I'd like to know what gearing to start with for the Co27 as well. I'm using the 81 spur and thought I'd start with a 23 pinion. Advise please & thanks.

I would start with a 19 or 20 pinion. Start with 19 then go from there. That should be fine for an 81 spur.

I have a 19 but I'd better get a 18-21. Thanks

Default B4

I run 21-81 on all stock and mod motors. It is perfect on both.

bad suggestion....unless your mods you are running at 12 turn mods...which then 81/21 is the suggested gearing....if you run a 11 turn 21 would be overgeared, and you would see high heat. on a 13 turn its safe, but still 81/22 is better for a 13 turn.

just went through my shocks to check which pistons i had in, and i was surprised.....in the b4 i have a #1 in the front #2 in the rear, in the t4 i have a #2 in the front and a #1 in the rear....so now i guess i want to adjust my shock oils lol.... usually everyone runs a #3 piston in the front of the t4 with 35 wt oil, so i think a #2 with 40wt should be good, is my thinking right?

posted are my setups (finally got acrobat to edit a blank one and save it)

Default Traxxas VXL-3s

Has anyone tried using the Traxxas VXL-3s and Novak Brushless motor with their B4? Does the VXL-3s fit inside the buggy?

wow Jake, you have no idea how close our B4 setups are. How do you get the setup sheet so you can use it on the internet? I will post mine

You can grid it down...or if you have a tc3/tc4 hinge pin kit or spares they fit perfectly. I had spare tc4 pins....

oh, yes I'm running gt2 front end w/ plastic arms on the rear...

Even if 2's with 40 'feels' like 3's with 35, it will be different on the track. A different piston will give the stock a different pack. 3's have smaller holes than 2's and will have MORE pack. It will make the front end feel more progressive.

Hope that makes sense
