Nice to build this car beside some minor stuff...the biggest problem i had is, the front shockmount, that you secure lid mount with and attach shock on, was non threaded... Is it just to contact ae-support?.

Besides a kice car to build, little to big gaps where front/rear are attaced to main chassi besides that i love it!!! Th shocks are a dream

+1 I also put some Boca Bearings in the tensioner pulleys. One day I pulled the tensioners apart to check and make sure everything was still smooth and working, well the stock bearings where trashed. Once I replaced those bearing they are lasting 3 times as long.

It's bearings like the axle bearings that don't last 'any' longer high end or cheap traxxas bearings. I find the appropriate Traxxas size bearings last longer than AE's and Boca's. (all but 1 bearing you can get from traxxas and they are way cheaper usually.)

Just a quick question here. I will be building a SC10 4x4 shortly and I see some of you are running 540 motors. How do they pull the truck? are they good for racing? and what turn/gear ratio wold you recomend? I have a 5.5,8.5 ballistic and a 6.5 velecity light. do not want to spend another 100 bucks on a 550 motor although Novak on the esc thread seems to recomend that I do. What are you feeling on it. Quess that is not a quick question

If you're running a smaller indoor track. A 540 is fine. (watch your temps)
If you're running a larger indoor or an outdoor track, you may need to jump to a 550.

It's really down to how/what/where you drive that makes a 550 required imo. I just put my 540 in to run for a while to see how I like it. It's been since the week I got the truck that i've ran it with a 540. I remember it being a dart. Good times. But i'm still waiting on getting a Pro 4. Soon.

Edit: Remember this is one of the lightest 4x4's. Yeah, a 540 would be a bad idea for a Losi, etc.

Id go with boca ceramic bearings all the way around they will last a lifetime if lubed periodically. In my experience with acer bearings they sent me the sc10 4x4 kit and half the bearings where the wrong size. In the end they dont even make all the sizes the truck needs. so thumbs down to them. I created the master list at boca bearings for them. They happily provided what i needed.

get the serrated aluminum traxxas lock nuts that fit the axles. i don't know what they go to, but the track i race at keeps them in stock because it's impossible to keep wheels on without them. if you use those and the aluminum hexes, you can clamp the wheels down extremely tight, and they don't budge. ever.

before i started using hazards, i got away with using the stock ones, but with the hazards, it became a necessity

Default Good setup for PRCR

Hey guys-

Looking for a bit of setup advice for PRCR. I am running saddle packs, pinned top shaft, chassis brace, sway bars. I'd love to see a full setup sheet if anyone has one that works there- Cameron??

Thanks for all the great info on this thread.

Just a quick note, Thomas P, you're missing the nut on the top front right shock mounting stud.

Hey Guys,

I just recently bought one of these trucks used on ebay and I'm wanting to tear it down completely and start over. I've been out of the R/C scene for over 20 years so i'm trying to jump back in. I'm waiting on some tools to tear into this thing, but what fluids do you guys recommend me buying for the rebuild?

Anything I should be looking out for?
