It seems that no one else is having an issue with the front shock tower and the front diff locking when you screw it down. I was told to check the bearings in the diff to make sure that they were pushed in all the way, they are. I was also told to check the lengths of the screws to make sure they werent going into the gear cases, they are the correct length. What am I doing wrong here??

My advice to you, since I had the same problem, disengage the motor pinion from the spur gear, take the belt, slipper and clicker off. Take the rires off. Now check the top shaft of the front and rear, iff there is any binding, back out all 3 of the screws that screw into the motor plate and the front 4x4 belt cover. I would back out each screw 1/4 turn untill there is no binding when rotationg the top shaft. Once you get the ront and rear smooth, put the belt on( im using hole 3 in the rear and 5 in the front). It should be smooth with no binding. Put your wheels on and roll it across the floor, it should roll nice and smooth. Mesh up you pinion and spur gear and your ready to roll!

jjlove I love your time lapse build. If I get a SC10 4X4 can you build it for me that fast? lol

Unfortunately, you don't have any room to adjust for different pinion sizes. Hope the one you fit on there works well for that motor. It looks pretty small. I would think you'd want something BIG to get anything out of that motor, IMO.

Could always go to the smallest spur then be able to go up in pinion

And then hope there's enough adjustment to get the mesh set correctly. I think it's cool, just a bit unpractical. And this is coming from a guy that runs a 2650kv in a Slash 4wd and a SCRT-10.

JJlove would've gotten it done even faster if he knew that there was a 1:1 scale of the screw sizes on the back page!!

Im running my belt: hole 3 in the rear, and 5 in the front.

no off power pull. only on full brake when at or near top end. As I posted, I read a ton of pages here and went down and loosened my transmission screws a little. the roll test on the bench seemed better. I am at the same spots on my belt tensioners. it kinda seems like the rear wheels lock up and the fronts keep spinning under braking. I have the brake force dialed way down on the esc. did not have a chance to run it again after the adjustments. will try later this week and advise.

I did pull the shocks off and bump the oil up to 40wt front and 35 rear. I have had really good luck with that combo in other veh for my track.

Man this sucks, my SC104x4 is still in the box taunting me...

What's worse is having it built, but 600 miles away and waiting for paint, electronics, motor choice and tires...

What's worse is the last tracking update has it in Reno NV, you have your electronics and tires, and you're waiting for it to come to Ohio on Friday and you have a race Friday night and Saturday morning.

Pity ThunderbirdJunkie. He commands it!
