I have a decent amount of spares, I just havent needed to use them;)
Which means I have more money to spend on tires.

cool ive order the truck and cant wait to get it in 1-3 weeks depenting on the service and tax people here.

im ordering the waybars and FACTORY TEAM HIGH TORQUE SLIPPER PAD thinking im going start whit that for the indoor track here its eighter carpet ore high grip clay whit small jumps.

shadoflame 10-18-2011 06:59 AM

i see what yall are doing with the pinned slipper. im not a fan of that at all.

the solution im going to run is using a rubber or foam rubber pad shaped to replace the front slipper. this will essentially lock it out. the rear will still be running on the clutch basket tuned accordingly. seeing as how much similiarity this truck has in design and driving characteristic to a TC, im taking the same approach. no front slipper(spool in TC), and only rear slipper (ball diff).

Further more, how can you prove it is a placebo effect?
.

I have tested it myself. I will keep continuing testing it under different track conditions.
I do feel it has affect, but not as much as ppl claim it to be.
I feel some positive effect in the second and third half of the turn. but not the acceleration cominig out a 180 hairpin on to the straightaway
And I dont see how this will help jump the truck better, like some floks are telling us.

***Track Star o-ring update***

First of all thank you to the dozens of customers who stuck it out with us patiently through our snafu that caused such a long back order. As some of you know we had to switch manufacturers mid stream and now have a solid manufacturer to work with here in the U.S.

In saying that our o-rings are back in stock and all back orders have been shipped (as of today).

Also this means that they are on the shelf in stock now and we are taking dealer inquiries. :)

I have an opinion too. Please just sell the truck and get a Losi so we can move on.

C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!

You are absolutely, completely, and FREAKING right.

Pinned topshaft is not a placebo effect. It might not cut laptimes in half, but it SURE helps a lot, especially with on-power steering.

Jeez, I'm running almost on slicks on a half loose dirt half clay track, and I have WAY less spinoffs than I used to.

That brings back memories, Killer Instinct for the SNES, right?

Looking back to saturday on my raceday, I was never out ran, I was out torqued out of the turns. The slipper was slipping little to none on the track surface I was running on. I would like to fix the torque issue but no have to buy an entirely new system. So, recommendations for a better 2 Pole motor? Apparently the VXL wont let the 4poles completely wind out...

I have tested it. I have tested everything I could with this truck
But this whole topshaft pinning is highly exaggerated.
I see folks claiming that they are a whole second a lap faster.
Claiming that this truck has a massive acceleration now, opposite then before
The biggest effect this topshaft pinning has is psychological
O yes, you may be a second faster, but it is the driver for sure, not the pinned topshaft, not the whole second that they claim

its a hype

no coffee this morning:lol: look say what you want, those who know me know i am thorough with testing. it is a proven fact that i went 9 tenths quicker with the mod and V2 pistons so yes your right it was more than likely a combo of the two but definately not in my head. MEN LIE,WOMEN LIE, NUMBERS DONT! and of course its the driver, how else is the truck going to get around the track, it doesnt take much in a setup to drop a second especially on a long mid 30second track, thats merely 6" per turn quicker if even that. And there are also many other variables that come into play. i posted a vid of my truck after the mod, Symettricon and CJtamu are locals and commented on the truck, do you think we are all out to fool you and everyone else on the board? its a simple mod, if you dont like it take the pin out and move on.
Murky, i was referring to the pistons more so when i said it jumped better although i think it may have some thing to do with how you approach the jump. before the mod it had tendencies to always jump nose up. as you can tell by the vid it doesnt do that anymore its stays relatively level but a higher percentage of that trait is due to the pistons. i also seem to have better "in air" adjustments now, a quick blip brings the front up, where as before i had to keep a handfull of throttle.

That aside, I wish the team drivers 'did' do that. It would be very cool to hear from them. They'd really create a voice for this black sheep of a 4x4 as well. I think us guys who have stuck it out this long deserve a little treat!

If you guys ever have any questions, just ask them, I am always following the Team Associated threads. Most of the time other members can or have answered the questions before I get to them but if you ever have anything specific let me know.
