Thanks for sharing.
Don't get your hopes up. We're stuck buying something.

I will start by addressing the issue with the arms bending. I agree with you, it is unfortunate that the arms bend over time like they do. My truck has done the same thing but, as Chris pointed out, you can stop a great deal of it by storing the vehicle off the tires. I have tested this myself and it does work. Now, as I said, I agree it is unfortunate that the arms do this. Because of this, I am happy to send you a new set of front and rear arms but, I must admit, this will happen again.
So much of the way a vehicle drives, handles, jumps, crashes, etc is determined by the type of plastic used. It’s a constant race to handle the needs of both strength and performance.

In regards to the slipper, what we have found is that by de-coupling the slipper we have effectively cut the slip surface on the slipper pads in half. We have tested extensively and have a solution but, it will not be available for a while. What we have been doing is providing our customers with a solution, notifying them of a wonderful product to help them get their Team Associated vehicle back up to speed. What is needed is multiple slipper pads like that of a motorcycle or dragster. The clutch basket Chris was telling you about is that solution. Yes, it would be nice to get all your aftermarket parts from the manufacturer of the brand of vehicle you drive, in fact we would prefer you by all your parts from us but, at the end of the day we want to make sure your experience with your vehicle is a good one. Sometimes that means we might have to suggest a aftermarket solution.

You are correct, others have had the issue and have contacted AE in regards to it however, you are the first to be dissatisfied with the assistance given. Which I understand, I can’t say I wouldn’t feel the same way you do if I were in your position.
What I can do is send you some front and rear arms, as mentioned above and I can also send you a couple sets of slipper pads.

I use the slipper basket Chris mentioned to you and it works fantastic. It’s very cool after market piece for the 4x4.

Please send me your sipping information and I will get the parts sent to you right away.

Once again, sorry for the trouble you have been having, I hope together we can get you back up and running.

Hold on to your high heeled sneakers, Dorothy.

I would say that the response from AE was well written and as much as any company can do.

I tore down my slipper tonight and it was pretty good. First of all I am running a Ballistic 550 4.5t motor with the stock slipper system. I had a FT HD slipper pad on the inside front slipper disk and a Garolite disk for the rear. Both showed signs of slippage but not too much. The truck was responsive and had enough punch to clear the big tripple with a squeeze of the trigger. So I am satisfied so far with the results. I drove Krio's truck with the Tekin Pro4 with the MTK Clutch basket and mine is very close to his. I will ask hims to drive it to see what he thinks as soon as we can. I think the Garolite disk is pretty good.

For those of you running the castle 1410 3800kv what are you running for gearing on 2s? I'm going to be running on a smaller carpet indoor/technical track. Any suggestions for gearing or anything else as far as setup would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

thats exactly what i am thinking too. i do have some ackerman bars in the works though!! will test after the RCpro finals this weekend. practice start tomorrow!

Now I wanna yell at them to get some free Pads and A-arms for the toolbox.

(Not to say 'anyone' who complains for just that purpose doesn't deserve them after what we've all gone through. hmmm.)

It depends in what you want but anything in the 14-16t range for pinion and the 32pitch 62t spur is what almost everyone runs. Hope this helps!

Depends on the rest of the stuff you are running. I am running a 540 2pole and a Tekin RSpro. I have a fan on the motor too. I added one ounce to the left side nerf bar. The farther out the weight the less you need to do the job. Could take as much as 3oz in the chassis. If you like the heavy truck start stacking.

Just ordered my basket and garolite pads. Oh, and the truck will be here friday. I have been following this thread since day one, so i have a good idea how to make this bastard child faast. WooHoo

Oh, and are the trackstar orings still worth it, or is running the lower stock x ring just as good

The single will suffice, but the Trackstars are still superior.
