Sounds like the clutch basket is right for you. Have you tried running the garolite discs? Try and concentrate on your throttle control. Try not to just rip the throttle back, make a smooth pull. It will make quite a big difference in the way the truck jumps as well as how the slipper works. Think of it kind of like NASCAR. If they were to come out of the corner and just mash the gas, there tires (or what I will call the slipper) will spin. If they come out of the same corner the next lap and roll onto the gas, they tires (slipper) will have limited to no slip and you will have the best traction. I hope I explained this in a way that you can understand, not saying your not smart, just dont know if you watch NASCAr is all. Hope this helps.
What kind of a surface do you run on? indoor semi slick dirt
How are you on your throttle controlled and trigger squeeze? I'm not a very good driver at all
Are alot of the jumps right after a corner? yes..I can throttle right over them at the beginning of a run but cant after a few laps..
Also, what motor and speedo are you running? Rx8/ 1410
After I over tightened the slipper it has got alot better but I'd rather not have to do that.

- Wild Cherry caught all kinds of flack a few months back when he said the AE guys were testing a drilled/pinned top shaft, a rumor that turned out to be true, then -
- The Ryans show up at the Reedy race with 550 motors with a basket that they had to buy from some third party on the outside, and they win their first major race.
Which begs the question - why the change? Obviously there is no problem
since the AE guys aren't trying to fix it. Okay, wait, that doesn't work.Why pin the shaft and give up the advantages of the decoupled slipper? Chris Jaroz contention notwithstanding, several AE drivers have been running pinned for some time (BK included, who always runs more motor than anybody else) so that doesn't work.
Was it availability of motors? No, because the 550's have been available for a long time, why not run them right off? So that doesn't work.
The simplest answer was the FT AE guys knew they had a problem with the slipper right off the bat, and the early solution was to motor down.
A better solution would be to use the clutch basket.
And an even better solution would be an all new slipper setup (spur, front and back plates) that increases the surface area on the slipper pad (read that, larger clutch), because the fact is this truck doesn't have enough slipper out of the box for the big KV motors guys are running to be competitive ASSUMING you want to use the slipper to slip and not fade like crazy if you let it slip at all, which is what I expect AE to introduce on the FT truck, IF they don't put it in the RTR before that.
If you have an alternate theory, I'd love to hear it.

Only other thing I have to add is this...
Why does everyone throw "BK" out there like they know him? I do, I've raced with him many, many times at comp. I have talked with him for hours about this truck and he does not run pinned, only a basket which I showed him the one on my truck (MTK basket) 2 days after I got it. And as far as motor goes, do you even know what he runs for motors? He doesnt run something way higher than anyone else. He runs a 10.5 in mod buggy and has no problems beating everyone at comp and comp has some dam good racers (sean bray (kyosho sponsered), charles hicks (TLR sponsered), casey peck FACTORY TLR sponsered), and tanner denny (Associated sponsered) just to name a few)
I know I've read it before somewhere but can't find it in a search, what are the pros and cons of "pinning" again? Sorry for the noob-like question.
With a poor slipper setup I can see the pin mod causing more stress on the drivetrain, and it would not perform as well in stiuatiosn where you want more power on the rear than the front since it creates what I think is a 50/50 bias but I'm not sure what the actual percentages are. Even in that case, you may be better off running the pin, then changing the pulley's to get more rear bias.
