Sounds like Marcus is going to end up with some of my money sooner or later doesn't it? Ha ha ha.

Question about the first page of this thread. All good info, but I don't see any of the fun stuff like slipper issues, clutch baskets, warped A-arms, etc. discussed. I assume I just need to hunt/search the thread to find that?

I would think that if it's hardpack "dirt" that smaller pin tires (like holeshots) would work well, and if it's really loose "dirt" use somethign with a larger pin (like calibers). If it's moist and sticky, but hard packed, then barcodes or rebars would probably work well.
Sorry i wasnt very clear i was actually looking what set ups for the truck would work in this situation. its hard packed and some times will rut up. so you are correct we use hole shots and suburbs depending on if there is moisture in the track. track is usually fairly high speed with some 180's thrown in.
Thanks Jason

Ok after a few hours of reading on here and looking up on the internet I have to ask now since I haven't found anything, how do you adjust the ride height? Is it just a shock mod, or is there more to it? By shock mod I mean something along the lines of fuel tubing or something else on the shafts under the piston to stop the travel? Or is it a adjustment of the pre-load with the screws on the shock cylinder?

Just the preload collars on the shock bodies to get it to a settled height measured from the lowest part of the chassis front and back. You still want droop for offroad, so I haven't heard of many people adding fuel tube/spacers in the shocks to limit downtravel unless there are special circumstances like running on carpet or something.

I put enough spacers on my shock shaft to limit uptravel and prevent the CVDs from binding in the diff outdrives, but haven't had reason to limit downtravel.

Did you put spacers on the outside of the shaft between the lower shock mount and shock body? Because if you put internal limiters on your shock shaft, you're limiting downtravel, not uptravel. Unless you put the spacers on top of the shock piston.

What I'm really trying to do is limit body roll while turning, I've ordered sway bars to help with that, but I know on most vehicles by lowering the center of gravity helps with this too, which is why I said limit the downward travel. Or is there another way of doing this with this truck?

Not wanting to limit the upward travel at all of it. Wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the shocks or limit their actual ability?

Umm... Marcus, do you have the link for your Garolite pads?

I might be getting them together with my new punchy pack, and see if I can get this slipper sorted with as little weight as possible, that implies your pads on stock slipper

Btw, how much would it cost to ship em to Spain via the cheapest available method?

To lower ride height, you'll just turn the preload collars up. Could also go to slightly stiffer springs, but the sway bars are going to be the true fix. Pretty huge difference.

Thanks. I'll try it. See what it does. Just waiting on the shop to get my sway bars in.

You're better off saying most of Spain does onroad...

I race at my backyard track with dad and my brother, imagine the movement around here
