If I don't recall I installed the wheel nuts from the slash 4x4 on my sons sc10 4x4. They are serrated on the back as well. But I only did it because it was mentioned in here. Lot of good stuff on this thread. It's a good idea to read this thread before you build your truck.

I run on your generic med traction smooth clay outdoor track with a very tight and technical layout. The truck is completely stock. I have a set of sways on the way as well as a set of aka enduros.

I think what I want to do is; take away some high speed steering, either add low speed steering or make it possible to break the back end loose to get it around tight turns, and reduce roll and weight transfer. What are some things I should look at to accomplish this? The sways will help the roll, but is there a way to reduce roll without sways? I'm thinking about going to stiffer springs to reduce the weight transfer. It sounds like running a thicker front diff fluid will help take away some steering. Will that help or hurt my low speed steering? If I make it easier to break the back end loose, I worry I'll reduce the overall stability of the truck.

Am I on the right track with my thinking? Help would be appreciated. I have seen what this truck is capable of doing and can't wait to get it dialed!
I would wait for the swaybars to come in they help out a lot. AE should have put the swaybars in the kit. If your in a pinch I would try heavier shock oil or small dia. hole in the shock piston all around till the swaybars come in. Then get the spring kit to set it up proper. I run 7 in the front 4 in the rear on the diff fluid but our track is real loose.

Lowes hardware store carries the wheel nuts. Just get the nuts and the washers come in a bag of 8 for under 200 pennies..

Ran outdoors last night. Big, fairly blown out track. Sc104 did well. I ran enduros and my indoor set-up/gearing.

Ran 10min main, used 4200mah, with MMP/3800.

Truck felt great, better than my RC8 that's for sure, and was really easy to drive. I did put in about 25% expo on the throttle, for the blown out conditions, actuallly they watered some near the end and it was much better.

Had about 8 trucks or so in the main, mostly sc104's and a couple losi and a slash I think.

Poduim was all AE!!!! So much for the AE indoors and LOsi outdoors theory.hahahahahaaaaaaaa

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I won... Would've won the gas buggy class but I went 'tard mode around the 15min mark, and broke it. 20 min mains ain't no joke..... hard for Vegatron to keep his head in the game fo that long....

This. At a minimum users should memorize CraigV's sticky first post, but the whole thread is really gold because you can learn all the problems people have as they beat their trucks like rented mules.

Guys, what ya think about running a Savox 1251 on this truck?

I can get one BNIB for real cheap (30% off retail price), the new ones with camo sprayed heatsink.

I'm not rough by any means, but the servo will work pretty hard, as the track has continuous subsequent turns.

I burnt down a Bluebird after 15 packs; I want this one to last at least a season (that is around a hundred packs).

I know it's made for touring, but will it work?

Thanks!

It's a good thing T-bird wasn't there. Lol!

Some sanding with fine paper, 500-600 grit. Just sand until you see there's no glazing. And only sand where there's glazing, of course

Any light on the servo?

I keep a green scotchbrite pad to scuff rims anyway, so I just use that.
