Make sure the front tensioner is tighter like 3/4 of the adjustment then set the tension with the rear, also if you slip the belt a bunch it will probably ruin the pulleys. Also use a dab of thread lock on the screws. Hope this helps, worked for me.

ok so I ended up pulling it apart and I readjusted the pulley tensioners. The belt didnt look like it was skipping.
As I was pulling the spur off, I noticed that I was missing the inner bushing that goes into the slipper hub was missing. i'm not sure how crucial that is, but i'm sure it needs to be there so I replaced that. then after spinning the belt around to check for binding, I noticed my right rear wheel was not spinning. I look inside the outdrive and noticed my pin to my cva is GONE. I thought those were pressed on by the factory or something, that shouldn't have came out. I was going to test it out on the treat just now but looks like I gotta get to get a new cva dog bone. maybe i'll get those shiny ones. |

mine did that a few times. only when i was going over a jump and using full throttle at the same time as landing wrong or flipping,
belt drive has more maintenance then shaft drive systems but it has its perks, more responsive, quieter, less trouble on the drive train. I really want to get this thing balanced. I wonder how much success the guys running the saddle packs are having. |

Ok just got this truck this week. Looking to start building it tomorrow.
Was wondering if people have been using the smaller 540 motors with this truck and if so how is copared to the 550 motor. Reason I am asking is I have a 4.5 ballastic 550 and a 4.5 540 trinity duo 2 motor how would these compare to each other Heat? Run time? Over all speed? Also where can I get these o-rings everyone is talking about How important is it to get the swaybars can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks for help |
I think the truck feels great without swaybars, I run on a small-ish indoor clay and the truck feels great! Amazing, better than my completely clapped out losi! With the same tires, different wheels of course. And my losi is really fast and handles like a dream but this truck feels better to me all stock, ae 5000 in each diff, mmp, 1410 ect...

Well i just bought the sc10 4x4 and what is everybody running in the diffs and shock oils? I know i need to get swaybars... Do i need anything else?

I bet your right about the flimsy front belt covers/case.
Have you ever tried to bend the truck in a U shape? Simulating the front or rear having upward force on it? I did and theres' quite a bit of flex. I could see the all the flexing having the negative effect of loading and unloading the belt quickly. Add braking into the mix and I could see the belt getting out of whack. Someone needs to come up w/ a upper chassis stiffener. Does it always seem to happen on landings or right after that? |
mine is stock no sway bars and i was able to drive it better than any of my other modified trucks. actually finished a heat and didnt tear anything up. great truck!!!!:D

just fyi the manual says if you are running the 19 tooth pulley you need to have the tensioner set down to one.
this makes the front wheels drive faster than the rear which can help pull it around. I need to try the 20 tooth and see how much different it feels. |
i tried the overdrive pulley yesterday at the track and didnt like it. made the truck feel twitchy and hard to drive...

I ran 4 more packs thru mine today, couldn't be happier! This thing is amazing on indoor! I was holding off 2wd buggies that were running 15/16 sec lap times, they were impressed and so was I. My fully modified losi felt like a pile after running this. I'm in love! Not sure what to do with the losi now lol, put about $300 worth of mods on it, wondering why now. :tire:
