Im still having some issues with the rear end coming around on me sometimes even in the straightaways it gets a bit wild. Im running 2.0 sways f/r, yellow springs front, blue rear springs. 30 wt front 25/rear. 5mm washers under front camber links, 7k weight diffs f/r 3/2 hingpin carrier in rear. Any reccomendations? It just gets squirly in the straightaways with a medium/high bite indoor clay track.
Try the 3/3 rear carrier and 3-4 mm of washers under the rear camber links with the link in the inside hole at the hub. 30-50k in your front dif will also calm the front end down (as has been suggested A LOT), but I do not believe it to be directly Related to your issue. |
So What does everyone think if the A-main at the ROAR Nationals. I believe there was only one SC10 4w in the show. The 1/8 scale style of drive trains seem to be dominating.

I'm kinda bummed maifield & cav didn't run the class...seemed like the class wasn't AEs focus. If those guys would have run it I think the outcome may have been different. No offense to phend, he's been a rising star for a while. I thought lutz was going to win, norcal is his local track I think.
It is definitely unfortunate that the SC104x4 hardly had any of AE's big guns racing them. Maybe being such a light truck outoors when its windy isn't such a good thing... Or maybe they know something we don't? Another weakness perhaps? Makes no sense not to even try to go 150% to get the win for their latest and most expensive platform to date. AE more than anyone knows "What Wins On Sunday Sells On Monday". :weird: |

Track at Norcal is rather open, so maybe the slipper issues are popping the head out again? Can't wait to see what will they do with the FT version of the truck. |
I had heard a little rumor that the Associated team was not informed that they could run 4 classes. You would still think they would try to get Ryan M in there though.
Kody N is a local racer to me, as of a week and a half ago he did not have a SC104x4. I think a weeks time to do a build and setup then go out and run 4th is really good showing. He ran the Travis B. saddle pack setup (silver05rs?). |
AE drivers did not have confidence with the sc10 4wd and did not race it in the nationals. As club racer how am I going to get confidence and the set up for this truck. Makes me think this will not make me faster.
What was wrong with it? I will not accept that they dont have enough racers or they were running too many cars. The Sc10 4wd was their newest car with a new design, they should be racing this compared to the other classes. Very disappointed that this happened. Just shows that they dont have confidence in this new design. Time to sell mine and get a losi, I might be able to catch up with the fast guys losis now :( |
Lots of speculation here. Who cares?
That there wasn't a big showing of guys running the SC10 4wd at such a high level race hasn't stopped me from winning races at a club level locally. |
if you think that buying the car that won the 2011 nats, will make you go faster.... LOL
there is something that called "talent" |

I'm considering one of these trucks for the indoor season. One question, any word of a Factory Team Edition coming out?

They did have top tear drivers running the car just not the Ryan's. They ran saddle packs and wider track jconcepts wheels. I know Orion does not make a 550 so that might be why one Ryan did not run it; that was a big open track. Maybe they need to mold up some stiffer plastic to reduce flex? Maybe it just was not AE's day in the 4w class, really hard to say.
I am happy for Phed and Lutz, They had some good races and there trucks looked real good. I know they did not run stock trucks and had every option part on them that the companies offered. |
