Okay I have waded through about 300 pages but did not find what I am looking for. My sons sc10 is a pain regarding the steering servo. The issue is everytime we go to the track it seems to destroy a servo. Latest to go (today) is a Hi Tec HS-645MG (Ultra Torque). Did not hit anything, practice on outdoor clay track, 1-10th scale. The inside gear stripped out. We all know how difficult it is to get these things out....
My question, is there a steering mod for these trucks, maybe one that relocates the servo to either side of the truck

Not to diss you ....
That new light weight JConcepts brings a big advantage..
weights 193 grams including a lite coat of paint & decals ....
The Concepts Flow ?
weights 210 grams including a thin coat of paint..
That much weight loss compared to the other shells is like you running a additional hole lower ...
Truck will have less roll & more stability...
Brings a performance improvement that anyone can feel on the track ..
*Measured with most of the vent holes cut out ..

Endpoints definitely make sure they are where they need to be. if it sounds like your servo is straining when you are at full lock either side, then you need to fix that.
Outside of that, how tight is your server saver setup?

First, thank you for the quick replies.
Today was the last day using the Traxxas TQI remote, the DX3c will be here in a few days and we can lock at endpoints. The servo does not seem to strain when turned all the way either direction and the wheels do not appear to lock at either direction either. I will have to check his servo saver to see where it is set. Do you recommend it to be soft or hard
Here are the specs on the latest servo to go-
SPECS: Speed: 0.24 sec/60° at 4.8V
0.20 sec/60° at 6.0V
Torque: 106.93 oz-in at 4.8V (7.7 kg-cm)
133.31 oz-in at 6.0V (9.6 kg-cm)
Length: 1.59" (40.6mm)
Width: 0.77" (19.8mm)
Height: 1.48" (37.8mm)
Weight: 2.11oz (60g)

Is there a new SC10 4x4 on the horizon or no. I really like this truck but I'm not a fan of the cramped motor and belt drive. I have a modified AE pro lite 4x4 I like the shaft drive in this truck. But I'm still wanting a second 4wd SCT for a back up or main racer and I'm more of a AE fan then Losi and would be game for a re-designed SC10 4X4.

try something around here this is a good suggestion but i might have a brown out issue with that dx3 you got coming.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ium-Gear-Servo.
this is what i use in the 4x4 with out a servo saver and it held up just fine before that it was a truggy throttle servo for two years. this a 25 tooth servo but look for something with these rating or better. more is good less is bad. if you get over kill your servo will last a lot longer than one your used last. but that is only if you have your end point correct. i use futaba gear and have no problem with the high amp draw of savox. they are power hungry but that is a good thing too. if you do get a brown out issue get a glitch buster. you cant be cheap when it comes to servo so go up if in doubt. not saying hitec is bad i just like these guy the are great bang for the buck.
or maybe you can try this one for a hitech i was looking for one based of the price of you old one this is the best i could find

or you can jump up too the $100 dollars one and im sure those will be swinging that thing like nothing.

For a new SC10 4x4, I think AE has a lot invested in the current design that if we saw something along the lines of what I am thinking you are wanting, it woudl be based on the RC8. they probably could quite quickly make one that was ROAR legal.
Outside of that, I don't think you will see a redesign to remove the things you mentioned, in particular the belt.
Good vehicle though, I do hope they continue with the platform.
