SC10 4x4 Thread
Try this:
Wild Cherry's almost as expensive but not as good as a center diff Quad VTS
Sorry, I had to....
Sure, the Quad VTS is better than the regular VTS and is light years better than the stock 2-pad decoupled slipper clutch nonsense...but an actual center diff really makes this truck come alive. Best $60 I ever spent on this truck. Period. OK, the Quad VTS is a $30 upgrade (assuming you don't already have a regular VTS)....not bad, but I honestly still think a proper center differential is what the truck is missing.
10 minute main last week....25 second lead over 2nd place.....
Before the C-diff, I was usually 3rd or 4th, and at least a lap down on the leader.
Other than the C-diff, my truck is almost completely bone stock...a few spacers under the rear inner camber links, and a spring kit, but otherwise, I'm running the same parts that come in the box from the original release 2.5 years ago....

I personally have never even seen a the center diff at my track used,. All the fast guys win without it every week, with the 4 pad. Lots of the dudes travel to other tracks as well where they dominate too (see vid of outdoor track above) This truck can easily win with the 4 pad.

Funny because i have never ever seen a 4 pad setup at our tracks and the fastest SC10's use a center dif!! The difference is our tracks are not blue groove, tight, slow tracks, you can run anything on a high grip track, this is nothing new. A slipper wastes power, its just how physics work!! I think i sold almost 20 Cdifs since monday so obviously it works! No way any slipper will outperform a Cdif on a loose fast track, PERIOD!!
Even though no one has tested it yet but a cdif with all 10 pins against a 4 pad on a tight track will give the same results!I have tried and sell parts for both setups, I dont think that anyone of the guys that are dominating , you or WC have even tried one, so your opinion is biased, you simply do not know.
Truck looks good in the video to me. It isn't a blown out track but its definitely not an indoor high bite either.
Sorry didn't want to cause a fight lol.
By the way I ordered a set of gariodisks to try in my b4. Seem good so far, looking like minimal wear after 2 days so far.

Once the B4 pads seat they will stay that way forever, dont be afraid to run them looser than you think!
My biggest problem with a slipper is that there is always wasted energy....doesn't matter how many plates you run on the inside or outside, or what they are made of, slipping is slipping and it's a waste.... With a C-diff, the energy is sent where it is needed.....

candrell's truck is so dialed !!!!

So smooth ... looks just like Bk himself ....

A great team mate , we BATTLE
every week end !!!!!
Also Thanks for posting the video bud...
You know....come to think of it....I just got a B4.2 with the VTS....For the $10 it's gonna cost me, I seriously want to grab the extra pad and plate and just try it so that I can say I have tried it. I mean, I've run a dual-garodisk, so I know what a "better than stock slipper" can be...but for $10 I should really try the quad VTS.....

IMO the quad setup is getting closer to the regular old dual garodisc! your still using pads that you have to sand and clean to keep them optimal. With the garo's you have to do nothing. The reason for adding the extra pads is to do what??? Keep from glazing the pads every 10minutes, Garos do not glaze. IF you already have the VTS just use VTS garodisc, dont have to stack anything, dont have to clean anything, your settings dont change and there is no maintenance. Why fight something that you dont need to? since you already have garodisc you should do a comparo between dual garo, stock VTS and quad VTs. of course your just gonna end up back with the Cdif but it would be just for fun anyway!
if I still had the truck, I would love to test it out. But, at the same time, the higher bite conditions in combination to smaller 1/10 jumps I don't have here.
Talking dustbowl conditions at times when ran dry. traction does come up for sure when wet but with the drying winds here, it goes away.
the center diff was a blessing, especially combined with the M2C rear toe in block to give more toe to lock in the rear end.
The SC10 4x4 though is for sure in its element when traction is up and you don't have the 20 - 30 foot jumps lol.
I am curious to see where the whole shorty up front movement takes things with a strategically ligthened sc10 4x4.
