1) Slipper --> should be oil filled diff
2) 3 gear trans --> should be 4 gear for best rear traction
3) too much flex in the chassis (3 pieces and all) --> Should be aluminum plate
4) Belt drive --> Should be shaft IMHO but a direct belt drive like the TC6 would work
5) Clicker???? Why???

Yes this truck is perfect and I love driving it...but it could be better!

That would be a completely different truck though, so what you really want is a losi, tekno with a ae sticker on it.

One thing is for sure ...

Don't get me wrong. I AM a Team Associated FanBoy all the way. I have nearly jump ship but could not get myself to do it. Considering that AE was the first one to release a 4x4 SCT vehicle with the SC8! They are as connected to the true Off-Road racing world as any manufacturer. Why they departed from the 8th scale layout that works is beside me. Even the B44 layout is better than what we have to work with. I can see some real ideas that looked like this platform was designed for more than just the SC10 4x4 but the few flaws that I mentioned are big. If there was any intent to create a full line of 10th scale vehicles off this chassis it certainly did not work.

I hope that this Big Announcement is something related to the SC10 4x4 (SC44). Considering that the Electric 8th scale Nationals is coming up in a few months where the only classifications are 8th scale Buggy, Truggy and 4x4 Short Course they really need to release something now to get ready. LCRC is a large somewhat loose track. I really hope the Ryan's race it in all classes

Ae doesn't really need to change the 4x4 because at anytime the Ryan's can take this truck and win at any track, they are that good, that sells the truck right there that's why I bought it myself.

Tom

I believe most of the claims the truck has issues are way over rated .

Lately ?
When ever I give my truck to someone to test drive ?

They end up with one the next week end...

We together have already made so many improvements the Sc10 drives rather well compared to the rest right now ..

It fun to race , drive & its bullet proof ...

Can you provide a link to this "Coming Soon" report?

I agree that AE will always develop improvements to all of their vehicles. I have been very pleased with the AE efforts on the 8th scale buggy. With 4x4 SCT motors reaching 8th scale power on 2S this classification really needs the same level of performance and tunability. I am not making my comments to bash the vehicle but to plead for more improvements. I do not plan to sell my SC10 4x4 just don't want to spend too much more money on it until I see something that convinces me to go there.

So I take it its now better than the world beating prolite you were touting not too long ago?

And the driver whose prowess with the prolite that got you to switch to it, what is he running now?

As for your comments about the issues reported being overrated, considering the main issues are the ones on conditions you don't race on, I can see you thinking that.

But doing the whole head in the sand thing on issues really doesn't help the vehicle WC. Its why AE on there factory team relized there was benefit to making a 3 pad slipper that aftermarket had been prior, as well as a chassis brace, etc. out of the box. Sure, they could have said it was overblown and just left it as is, but, they decided to look at the known issues head on and fix what they did at the time, and hopefully, they continue that trend.

Lower & Lighter body

Anybody try to lower the body a extra notch
then what you can do stock ?:sneaky:

This is my next project .....:deathstar

I am really hoping that AE does keep pressing on this vehicle class. No matter how you look at it, there are too few chassis on the market that are capable of National level competition which is what I, as a consumer hobbiest, want. Even if you consider the SC10 4x4 competitive there is only the Losi, Durango, Tekno and I would even say the new Slash 4x4 is creaping up into the fight. Tekno is the new kid on the block with a very well thought out design. Both Losi and Durango and even Traxxas have upgraded their chassis a lot. The OFNA models are almost fully dropped. Krio created the Caster based Rapture now that could become a new challenger. So.....

It's time for something from Associated!

I will hold out a while longer. I am nearly 100% Associated now with only and old Traxxas Mini-Slash and a Jammin SCRT10 that I chopped down to fit the 4wd Buggy class for fun. I jumped into the 4x4 SCT class when the Jammin SCRT10 came out and got that competitive until the Losi conversions (TenT) started to show up. I order the SC10 4x4 on the day of release. So I am rooting for AE all the way.

There are many handleing benifits from lowering the body as much as possible but then the tires start to rub and wear quickly. I'm only running proline flowtek bodies that give you a lot more tire clearance over a stock body. If you limit the up travel of your shocks to keep it from rubbing so much it works good.

Don't we all do that? I know I do.

Cain 05-21-2013 01:06 PM

fully agree.

Great companies do the same-thing as well.
