In general I think some guys were still adding weight by the servo. after adding the exotek chassis, I didn't add any.

gained traction here with the +8mm mod. Based on what I saw with and without it, raising the inner ball stud was basically taking away the traction I saw when the outer hub ball stud was raised. As I dropped the inner ball stud (tower), my traction came up. took off the +8mm mod risers with same ball stud height, and I felt as if it traction decreased slightly. This was all on very loose track condition. Based on this, felt the M2C toe block at 3.5 degrees did what I needed it to do so I didn't put the risers back on.

That said, its worth trying and see what you think. I think exoteks hubs would be a great pickup so you can try all the different locations available and tune as needed.

That pretty much sums up where the benefits are of the Pro4 style motors in comparison to the 550s. The low end torque is where they shine in comparison to the current crop of 2 Pole 550 motors.

I piced up my second sc10 4x4.
I had one when they were first out. I ran 20/5 diff oil.
What is the preferred diff set up now?
Large outdoor low to medium bite
Tires of choice are like city blocks.
Motor is a Tenshock 411 4000
Clutch basket style slipper, 20 / 5 sounds good especially if you have the factory team style ackerman bar with the extra rear holes or the RC Shox one.

If you have an RC Shox center diff, 7-10K front, 5K rear is where I would start.

I had 2 ballistic 4.5's 550's, one with a high torque rotor and a ballistic 5.5 so I think im a fairly good judge. I also ran 14t pinion on the 4.5 ballistic but with a mmp esc and it was to soft. I ran the ballistic 4.5 on a rx8 in my scte and it was a beast. Im going to the throw the reedy in that.
suggest you gear down to a 12p/62s

14t kinda big , even for the Novak ...

Had grunt to out jump & more speed on the straight..

just an FYI for anyone who doesn't know, the ballistic with the high torque rotor drops the effective Kv. I believe Novak said if you are using a 4.5 motor with the high torque rotor (I think its 14mm from memory), it goes down to like 3800Kv.

Ya, I would drop to a 12T for scottys track, its usually a lot more technical than garys. I ran the ballistic 4.5 550 low torque rotor with a 18t in my scte and it was a baus. The reedy 4.5 550 should be great in that truck.

Fyi: if your running a mmp try a rx8 and you will realize there is a little more power to be had from any of these motors.

I didn't like the high torque rotor, it was like a built in drag break. Hated it immediately.

Yeah, if you search the thread there was a big discussion about that. the ESC is versatile, but is pushing it in this kind of use.

IS anyone here running a Tenshock 4600kv motor...... I need some help. I just swapped in the Tenshock after running Ballistic 5.5 kept the same size pinion 13t and now my temps have gone through the roof on everything.

ESC = 240 deg
Motor = 260 deg
batteries = 160 deg

Never seen these high of temps ever ...... I have ordered some new pinions, I cant imagine that the little change in KV would make all these temps go up so drastically.

So Dakotah Pfend won the 2013 Cactus Classic in the 4wd Short Course class just now. Most of the vehicles were Losi with only Kinwald from Associated. Does anyone know what Kinwald was running? I would have thought that the track would have been good for the SC10 4x4. I may be racing this class this summer but it seems that the chassis is getting out classed. What can I do to compete?

it has been for a while and now with the new losi and tekno it will be even worse as you can see by the support of ta and how many of the sc104x4 are for sale.

I think I will set up my SC10 4x4 for my kids as a basher/Novice racer. Are the 13mm shocks functional on the 2wd SC10?

The problem will probably be finding light enough springs for a 2wd application and also clearancing the shock towers to fit the 13mm dia. Even the new 12mm shocks require tower clearancing. Thats why associated anounced the sc10.2 recently with new shock towers. Waist of time imo. Bigger isn't always better. 13mm would probably drive like a joke becuase 2wd trucks are so light.
