Its a SC10 4x4 isn't it?
With mods no different than the exotek chassis or m2c toe block, its something being tried to improve performance on the SC10 4x4 so nothing changed my mind. I'm not in here spamming the thread, being the instigator or posting media for anything not pertaining to the SC10 4x4 from electronics to hardware. I am interested in mods or equipment that will improve or is being tested on the SC10 4x4. I've read this thread from the first page to now and in the last 200 pages 70% of the drama has been from you and other members extreme dislike for you. The other 30% has been the 8mm mod, and random clutter. I'm here to talk about the SC10 4x4, not to get into a pissing match with a geriatric member who is disliked both on the forums and at his local track............ Some of the info you've given has been helpful for that that much thanks but the majority of your posts contradict themselves and are easily disregarded by verifiable data from other members or data that can be duplicated and shown to be true. Bro thats sweeet, did you have any issue on fitment? Looks very robust and like it could take alot more damage Staying on track, who else is running a RX8 whats your set up for the SC10 4X4? Loaned my truck to a guy that drives way better than me, he did well with it but was wondering why the power felt soft. We looked at it and it was setting on my radio (go figure). I don't know why I changed it but last saturday was the first time to race in almost 2 months. And I agree, this thread needs to stay on track. |
hey cain,
Replaced the 8mm mod last night with 3.5 toe on the mtc block with high roll center setting on the hinge pins. Also, ran FT stock setting on rear ball stud and rear hub tower. Now, I could break much harder coming out of the straightaway and into the sweeper than before! Was faster per lap by 0.5 second now. Before, if I hit the break in the straightaway going into the turn, the car would get a little loose on the rear end. I can also now throttle much sooner coming out of turns (of course, I increased the rear toe). Definitely like this mtc 3.5 toe block setting better! I do still have a slight on-power push in turns. Might be a function of my driving though. I can't wait to run this truck on an indoor, loose 1/8 size track. I would only expect it to be better there. This was on a small, tight, medium bite track at a club race. I will say that one of my fellow club races runs kinwald's setup with the 8mm mod and he's still about 0.5 second per lap faster even with my changes with the rear toe. So, I guess it depends on your driving style and skill level. Thanks for testing out that mtc toe block a ways back. |

I'm running RX8 and the Tekin Redline 4.5, it works great. The trucks with the Pro4 seem to be faster but mine is plenty fast. My current setup pretty much matches Max Flueur's setup (on AE site) from the 2012 Psyco Nitro Blast. I race at 1/8 scale outdoor track - snowed on us last Saturday.

Throttle curve, timing, current limiter, nuetral width, throttle limiter, etc... I have a hotwire so I can use the 2 custom profiles but am still new to having so many options available for tweaking. On your radio what did you do that caused power loss on the RX8?

And if your trucks feeling loose in the caboose, try dropping the rear ride height 2mm less than the front, and setting rear camber for 0 degree it seemed to help me get the rear more planted by allowing my tires more contact area to grip and distributing weight evenly and dropping the rear end 2mm seemed to make me more planted around corners. Heres a link to a post from Cameron Kellogg maybe you can get some help from it. I wish this guy was still here he really gave good positive and truthful feedback on tuning the SC10 4x4 http://www.rctech.net/forum/10640989-post22028.html |
I miss Cam too ......:)

Got the body painted. Now while that's drying I can glue my bowfighters to the stock rims. The stock tires im saving for carpet racing.

So I'm getting to the point where I'm feeling like saddle packs and a different motor are all thats left to try with my SC10 4x4. The stock shocks on emulsion have worked well so haven't tried the RC Shox dual stage pistons.
I have installed Exotek V.2 Chassis Exotek Rear Hubs RC Shox V.2 Center Diff 6 pins M2C Toe Block 3.5 toe 0 degree anti squat RPM Arms Front/Rear Sway Bars Front white/Rear blue Front Springs in Rear 8mm mod 8mm limiters in shocks Which makes me wonder about what I've already installed since a lot of the hop ups for the SC10 4x4 don't have very good instructions if any at all, the M2C toe block instructions are hard to understand but you can figure it out sort of? I'm still not sure if its right. :sneaky: But I keep wondering about my Exotek rear hubs as they didn't have any manual so using them for the 8mm mod or even a stock configuration is hard to set up since theres no reference data besides Cain's tips and info. This is all I've been able to really find. Acill post# 5 he's running 4mm on the exotek http://www.rcshortcourse.com/forum/t...-sc10-4x4.html Just got back from the track after a couple new tuning updates and the first run on the new rear Exotek hubs. These work fantastic. I found that using the 2mm spacer that it comes with and an additional 2mm spacer takes me right to the same height that using the B4.1 rear carbon hub tower I was using before I got them. I'm still using 7mm of spacers in the inner as well. I've also put in 7k diff fluid up front and 5k in the rear with the ball diff and 4 pins. It felt perfect. I ended up taking 3rd in the A-main tonight on a track I only ran once before and had no practice time. This truck is perfect now and I am very glad I gave it the chance it deserves! Shark413 #367 He's running 6mm on Exotek Rear Hubs http://www.rcshortcourse.com/forum/t...10-4x4-19.html More info on Exotek rear carriers. The best feature is the ability to adjust camber link length and the ballstud height. The other cool thing is because the ballstud mounts on top the camber link clears the shock and maintains a nice angle (almost parallel with the arm). When doing the 8mm mod using the stock carrier and the B4 extender the camber link must be run forward to clear the shock spring and has an extreme angle. Apparently this is ok because Brian Kinwald runs it like that. But I wanted a straighter angle and the exotek carriers give you that. So currently I'm running 6mm on the exotek hubs and ballstud is in center hole on exotek hub and inner hole on shock tower with 7mm of washers for my attempt at the 8mm mod. My Camber links are straight parallel with the arm and even with the shock tower ball stud. http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...-44-03_636.jpg If you have the Exotek Rear Hubs and have any feedback on them. Specifically what the 3 mounting holes on the top that the camber link attaches, changes in performance or handling. Or even how many washers your using post up. This threads about sharing info :D So Share.... Here'd how its set up currently till I go with a different motor or try saddle packs anything to make the weight more balanced :p :D http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...pscaf964bc.jpg |
i thought i get him a new one so he can learn that one

I have a buddy who has an sc10 4x4 with a lot of spares and hop ups, if anyone is looking for one, he could be interested in selling. exotek as well as the m2c block too.
