Anyone got a breakdown on off the shelf items to do a swaybar setup for less with minimal customizing of parts (ie- no bending your own wire)?
asc31264 mounts /asc9635 sway bar asc1777 shock ends and some miscellaneous hardware you would still have like $30 in it . http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...c1777&x=3&y=15 http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...9635&x=12&y=24 http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...264+&x=20&y=22

Default DE Racing

Just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with DE.

I called to order 2 sets of SC10 4x4 wheels. They told me they didn't have them on the web yet but that I could order them anyways. I was told to just order any wheels off their web site but to put in the notes that I wanted SC10 4x4 wheels. A few days later I got the wheels in the mail, but they were not the 4x4 wheels. I called up and was told that they remembered talking to me but did not see the note.(maybe my fault, internet mistake, maybe their bad???). Here it is 2 days later and I have 10...yes 10 wheels in my hand. They not only fixed the problem fast but they also sent me 2 extra wheels and four fancy wheel holders.

Just wanted to say that they went above and beyond to fix a problem that might not even have been their fault( I think it was but who knows).....I would order again.

FYI the wheels look nice

Great to hear! They had a web glich that would not let them see the customer notes when orders printed. I beleive it's all fixed now. They rushed me several sets to run at for the NW Nationals too. Great company and a great looking wheel.

Don't for get DE Racing wheels are made in the USA also.

Alright, I gotta ask. If the losi wheels supposedly have the same offset as the SC10 4x4, why did DE need a specific wheel for the SC10 4x4 when they already have one for the Losi? Did they do something different with the offsets between the two?

They are able to increase the size of the webbing on the rims to decrease the flex of the wheel. The Losi has minimal webbing compared to what the AE wheel can have.

thanks for the info. I bought some DE wheels for the losi to use on my SC10 4x4 and I did notice they were kinda flexy, nice to know their AE specific wheels are stiffer.

In other words the Losi ones are lighter in case you care about unsprung weight. If you own both trucks, get the Losi wheels.

The Losi off-set is just a little bit off fromt the AE. The truck is about .055 wider with the AE wheel over the Losi, but the real benifit is the stiffer wheel. You can use either one on the truck.

Thanks in advance
Actuallly Castle says if your motor gets over 200 deg F You should send it in for a replacement because you over heated the magnets which causes them to lose magnetism and temps will keep going up each time you run the motor

castle cust service advised that 160-170 are the proper temps for max power. That has always been my rule.

I love my SC10 4x4 but one thing is a real pain, changing or adjusting the pinion. It basically requires you to pull the entire motor out. So I decided to do what AE should have done for us. I drilled a hole thru the bottom of the chassis that lines up with the pinions grub screw. So now I can stick a wrench in the hole and loosen the pinion grub screw to adjust or remove the pinion. I used a small foam wedge to seal the hole from the inside. See my post on RCShortcourse. http://www.rcshortcourse.com/forum/s...774#post189774 for the gory details (it's a long post and I didn't want to clutter this thread).

With a small hole in the bottom of the chassis I can insert a 2mm hex driver and loosen the pinion grub screw without removing the entire motor.

Small foam wedge seals the hole from inside.

Here is the bottom of the chassis. The hole is where the rear chassis slopes so it won't snag on anything and is small enough to not compromise the strength of the chassis.

Screws to mount to arms and sway bar clamps still needed, nothing tricky.

Bend your own bars with pliers. Cut to 6 1/2 inches. Find the center. Make a mark there and an inch each way from there. Bend at the outside marks, about 10-15 degrees shy of 90. Exact same shape as an AE 2wd bar for a B/T4 or sc10, just a hair longer on the "legs." Super easy, maybe $20-25 in parts.

please tell me again where to get the wire you make the bars out of. and maybe what 2 thicknesses I should get ..thank you[/QUOTE]

You can get the wire from your local hobby store, usually called piano wire. I am using 1.5mm, 2mm and 2.3mm(front only). I am used the Jamming sway bar mounts on the arm, with a 1mm shim to take up the space and the Jammin mounts on bulkhead. For me, I found 48mm of flat before the bend on either side of the bulk head mounts works best. As soon as you get the bend right on one side(arm mount going straight up), trace it on a piece of paper so you can match the other side to it.
