I'm running the 120a Hobbywing ESC that can also run 1 cell. It's coping very well with my Tenshock motor. Very pleased.

Switching to the Avid slipper would mean changing all your spurs and making sure you have spares and do they not make a 32 pitch spur? I don't think a 48 pitch would last long on some of the big SC10 4x4 motors!

All he said was mayfield did it without. Didn't say anything bad about the product. Just that rm did a good job with his stock kit.
Just saying.. play nice people no need to bully and gang up.

No need to call names on here.
If you don't have something say... Don't say anything at all.
This dosnt contribute one bit to the thread

Agreed. I think we need a few more options on this thread. Like a scarcasm button, and a cheeky button. Ect..
Not always easy to interpret the "tone" of text.
That's why we all need to keep it "light" in these forums.

hard to read all this stuff about wc because I know him and he's a truly nice guy. Will help out anybody at the track. Yes he does stir the pot but many of us do too. ;)

JSp summed it up perfectly.... This thread is now totally worthless, everything that anyone needs to know was posted along time ago.

Now it's a 2-way circle jerk, WC and his stooge.... Have fun with all the bad tech and blatant nut swinging....

i also had this issue one race day, found one of my pulley tensioners where binding, so i replaced a bearing... and almost magically i could triple alot easier.

so i would suggest taking your transmissions apart and cleaning them and checking belt tension as well as the tensioners.

even too tight of gear mesh can make it feel sluggish too.

agreed I have my belt at the end positions on the most loose setting and it works great.

With pinion off your truck should roll 15 feet with a slight push. If its too tight your truck will handle like its pulling a trailer behind it.

SOuthernFRIED 09-03-2012 05:58 PM

If it's too tight your truck will also want to swap ends while transitioning off throttle to braking.

Which Hobby King ESC would your recommend? Which motor would you recommend?

I have a friend that needs a new ESC for a 4.5t 550 motor or higher.

I would not recommend anything from hobbyking. get a tenshock sc411 sensored motor and tekin rx8. spend it now or spend it later.

whats the going rate on a used sc10 4x4 ? i think i may sell mine.

Vegatron75 09-03-2012 06:40 PM

jack squat^^^^^^^ $100-$125

Check the completed listings on Ebay, it ain't pretty........

Wildcat1971 09-03-2012 06:42 PM

100-120 for a roller, maybe 140 for a FT. you can get $200 is you have the exotek chasis on a ft. but they are very hard to sell. I am just gonna race mine till it dies. as I cant sell it for more than $100

SOuthernFRIED 09-03-2012 07:22 PM

I gave mine to my son.. Not even gonna try to sell it..

At least until the local indoor season comes around:sneaky:
