SC10 4x4 Thread
For me I found that I had to change how I drove the sc10 4x4 than what I was used to with my other vehicles and that was with a basket setup. I find that I am more on throttle around the track, even in low speed sections. Maybe that is where guys like the push control features to keep it rolling?
off-throttle that is where things can get loose at least for where I run and my setup which I am working on. I can see how this vehicle though can be a beast indoors or on very high traction. When I ran it on carpet and had a setup that was good, it felt like a TC around the track.
i noticed a huge difference from stick pack to saddles... i drove the truck with a stick pack for about a year plus.. finally made the switch a few weeks ago and wow.. night and day difference for me.. the truck felt more centered in the air.
Sounds more like a setup issue on the diff if he can't clear simple jumps. I Can easily clear big jumps here almost like the 1/8 E buggies do (ie- from dead stop).
Personally if it was me, I would have directed him to speak with RC Shox to see about helping him out. Like I would have done if he was having issues with his VTS.
Cain , the drivers seen use did not have any set-up issues or tire problems.
One is perhaps even more experience & faster then yourself .

He's even teammate of yours...
Driving styles definitely can make a love / hate relationship with a vehicle and its setup.

Not a game changer to rely on either , the saddles pull a little harder out of the corner, bit more stable on the jumps...

If someone I race with is faster than me that's cool, doesn't mean a part is not whats its advertised to be. Me driving slower than what someone else can wheel with an AE vehicle doesn't mean it all of sudden sucks does it WC?

Regardless, if the guy is faster with the VTS, great. and I give him credit for at least trying the setup, though, I would have mentioned (assuming he didn't) getting in touch with RC Shox for the lack of simple jump clearance issue he was having as that sounds like a problem. (or, as a way to look at it, it would be like me telling you the same thing about the VTS? You would agree that shouldn't be the case ... right?)
I am hopeful AE releases a low traction big jump outdoor setup in the future. For me at least, things will be changing up to indoor carpet over jumps in a few months, but would like to have it sorted.
Apologies Cain , thought you were on Mantis's team , sure sounds like you are ...
Sorry guy , you have a steep hill to climb if you wish to prove to me ....
Not being closed minded either .....
You can't blame those driver's not knowing how to tune or adjust....

yea lemme at it!I hope to race the buggy tomorrow but I still have a bunch of stuff to do to it tonight. So it may be another shortcourse race night for me. That's sounds good to as I changed from bk back to Cody"s setup. And it felt good. Either way I can't wait.
As for proving anything to you, its hard to do that if you won't try the product? Regardless, you have your reasons for that and that's fine. I just suggest that people when they have issues with something at least contact the manufacturer with the issue (in the case you mentioned, that sounds like a real problem with how it was set).
But I personally don't sit in one camp or another. I will give a product or setup a go if I think it will work, which, I have done with your advice and RC Shox.
Can someone post a direct link to what setup is considered the Kody setup?
