mods on my truck are:
exotech chassis
8mm hub mod
rc8.2 buggy spring mod
dual 2s shorty packs
.5 deg rear hubs
and soon v2 center ball diff

easy, I am running the exotek in my truck on what sounds like a similar track. I am running a FT with a modefied Numandal S/U.

I went with the yellow springs front and rear and 40/35 losi shock oil. It helped the truck with traction rolling in the sweepers. The only thing i didn't with the heavier oils is that it made the suspension feel a bit lazy. I have adapted to the feel now and am going fast.

Not sure if this heavier oil will work with the pistons that you got there.

I am putting the Exotek chassis in, with a bunch of FT upgrades,
What Front Springs was it that people were suggesting with
the Exotek?
Green Front? 3.50 rate
Or was it Blue Front? 4.30rate

I believe Green which is a 3.50 Spring rate? but i forgot??
THX

I would stick with the whites... I like that in mine with the exotek (same kind of track). If anything you would need to go to the blues for a heavier chassis.

Looks good please update us with a review once you get a chance to run them. And did you get them off ebay?

http://www.tsrproducts.com/index.php...010105-ft.html

The Black Bladders seem just slightly thicker then the Stock bladders,
but definitely better quality....The Orange are much thicker, with the slots under to fit the foam, I am starting with the black bladders..

These Ofna bladders are similar...
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ock-Bladders-4

I will probably pick up a pack of ofna's as extras, but no foams,
with this pack...
THX will review after rebuild & drive!!

When doing the 8mm rear hub mod do you have to use the carbon "c" tower or can you use the "a" and "b" ones? Also what are the differences between them.

The C hub sits lower, making it equate the 8mm on the outside I believe

Now we are starting to see people go with dual shorty lipos though so that is a different case. Each of them would be 4000mah 2s packs wired in parallel so you would have the equivalent of a single 8000mah 2s pack.

Its important to realize that the current output depends on if the packs are wired in series or parallel also. Wired in series the capacity does not change so a 5000mah pair of 50c saddles would have a constant rating of 250A vs a pair of shorty 4000mah 50c lipos wired in parallel would have a constant rating of 400A. Basically you could get away will a lower C rated pair of 2s packs wired in parallel vs. 1s packs wired in series...Of course lower C rated packs could lead to more issues down the line. Also whatever connectors you are using would probably melt before you pulled 400A constant but that is probably obvious.

Good summary, SMR 510RR. I wanted to add the the 8000mAH would extend run time as well. I am looking forward to running this and the 8mm hub mod in July. Should be fun!

I checked out the RCShox battery strap and it is clear that it would work no problem. Since the length of the Shorty pack is 94mm I expect that the battery will fill the front section of the tub with some foam so only the hold down is needed. I am planning to use the stock strap on the motor side so I can mount the ESC on the opposite side. I will have to cut down the saddle cradle to provide a post and then cut the strap to mate with the post. The front clip has the mountings for the stock retainer on both sides so this should work. I may even be able to use the receiver box still!

kind of a weird question,

do asc10 4x4 & losi ten scte have the same offset on their wheels?

Yes.

(The Losi requires trimming of Proline wheels (renegade and splitsix) to fit over their monsterous front hubs though)

Noone have any idea? Could someone please measure the length of the f/r bones? I can't since my rears are bent.

Good catch. I believe it might just be a typo in the "trusty" manual. The FT & standard kit parts section on AE's site list the 91040 as fronts and 91041 as rears.

didn't someone on this thread measure and say no? (at least, for the original wheels?) Going to try the search feature ...

They both run a Zero offset, if the stock losi's are different, Okay. But Proline and jC both issued the Zero offsets for both the SCTE, Slash 4x4 protrak, Slash protrak, Sc10 4x4, Sc10 RS.

But then AKA has Losi and Sc10/4x4 specific Rims... So I really don't know what the deal is. The guys have been carving out Proline rims since the SCTE came out.

THX

Stick with the spring that performs best for you .

We are using slicks at the moment @TRCR and even with the grip slicks bring I had better traction with the standard yellow spring .
Sometimes the truck would step out of the turn just a little and add time to the lap using white ft.

Also the roll was way less with the white ft, good for the sweeper & higher speed turns , but bad for sharp turns on the infield as you get a bit less steering .

If I were you ?

Try the yellows again & compare the times .

That's what I did and discovered the spring that was faster for me ...
