NM....apparently I'm too slow typing tonight.

Was still kinda mad at my truck....rebuilt the shocks with brand new trackstar o-rings seals and cartridges, green slimed, and used teflon tape on all the threaded portions, like I always do, and after sitting on my shelf for the week while I've been working on other projects, my right rear shock leaked about half it's fluid out.....and that's with virtually zero movement on it....

Probably time to upgrade my year old shafts to the TiN ones, huh?

I have read bits and pieces of this thread and I have been checking out what others use at the local track here. I have the stock RTR version and it has speed but I believe there could be more and ride without overheating. My friend has the Losi TEN-SCTE with the Tekin Pro4 4600KV and he flies down the track. Only thing is that I pass him on the straight away with the stock motor in mine. Now I don't have the sway bars and need to purchase it soon. Im am in limbo with either upgrading my trucks or get into the boat scene. So out of the motors that I have witnessed, it came down to:

Tekin Pro4 4600kv

Novak Ballistic 4.5T/5000kv

LRP-X12L 4.5T/4700kv

This is the stock motor in the SC10 4x4 RTR:

Getting straight line speed is easy, I'd focus on handing more.
sway bars are a must.

Boats are cool, why not do both?

+1.

I kept telling myself I would have to wait a few years before I got into flying....always wanted to, but was so afraid of blowing $2000 on a bad gust of wind. (Saw a 7 foot turbine jet glitch it's radio on it's maiden voyage....I think that was about $8000 gone in 60 seconds....)

But then I saw the amazing video footage that Team Orion got at The Dirt Nitro Challenge....now I'm building my own Quadcopter.... You can have your cake and eat it too!

Thank you!

Yes, I was planning on doing that. I have had several incidents with that with my current SC10.... and that brings up a question.... I have used blue loc-tite with 50% success. Has anyone tried red loc-tite on these? I know that might render them more difficult to maintain, but I just hate it when it comes loose in the first place. Thoughts?

Gens Ace saddle pack ?

So, with the new FT kit on its way, I have since procured some saddle packs. I bought a Reedy pack and a Gens Ace pack. I have noticed that the Gens Ace pack is like 6mm thicker than standard width 2S lipos. Does anyone, who runs saddle packs currently, know if I will have a fitment issue with the Gens Ace packs within the SC10?

If you bought the 4800mah gens saddles then no, if you bought the 6000mah gens ace then yes you will. The screws for the mounts are not long enough, I believe they are around 14mm and you will need at least a 20-24mm flathead screw as well as the same size set screw

Here is a pic of mine with the 6000kv saddles, as you can see I put two longer screws on each side, the side with the washer is the side where the set screw and tab go.......

I got tired of waiting on Associated to get Chassis Braces in to order so I made my own :)

I ended up cutting my rx8 along the top like others have done. I think it looks good too.
Anyone have a good pic of a rx8 cut with a smaller fan on it. It never gets hot but I just want a fan for peace of mind...
