Oh sweet, another Traxxas hater in a thread about the Slash 4wd. Who would've thought?

I put a set of sway bars and center diff in mine and it totally changed the handling. I can put it anywhere on the track I want to and it's very fun to drive. I only race with mine, never bash. I haven't broke a single part yet.

I know a guy who bashes his. He jumps ten foot in the air, lands on concrete floors, hits metal posts, and plenty more. He brakes a few parts, which is only understandable. It's all in how you want to treat one.

Get a softer set of tires and have a blast with it. That's what this hobby is all about, having fun.

Raced my Slash last night at Hobbytown in Ill. Nine 4x4's all but three were slash's. During the night the others all broke at one point or another, some twice. Didn't see one Slash come off the track broken. Top truck was a stock slash (no center diff). Myself have had mine and raced it since they came out. Ive replaced one center bearing, to me that's not to bad for as had as I drive the truck. I'm sure all the new truck's are gonna be awesome, Mine is paid for and run's great---support your local hobby shop and buy a new AE or LOSI, and will see ya at a track someday. P.S. 92 vert you missed a good night of racing.

Good stuff fellas, keep it coming. Buddy of mine has one on the way, and as his chief mechanic I'm looking for things to spend his money on LOL. KHZ center carrier looks like a must. Can someone clue me in on the wheel bearing size, and also on the bearings for the stock center carrier? About to turn an order in to Avid for some spares. Thanks.

sounds like you'll be setup. I'm doing the same thing(s). Only difference is I went for the premount M3's and some STRC stuff.

I just downloaded the PDFs - and this is what is stated on the sheet:
shaft carrier bearing: 10x15x4 http://traxxas.com/sites/default/fil...e_100115_0.pdf
hub carrier bearing: 5x11x4 http://traxxas.com/sites/default/fil...t_100414_0.pdf

I'm now reading the bead-locs might have been a bad choice. Going to e-mail AMainHobbies now to hopefully change the order before it ships. We'll see.

My concern is that the glued ones will come apart. My stock Traxxas wheels/tires came apart. Hence the reason for the bead-locs.

Love the idea of the bead-locs, I have a set that came with the truck (used). I had trouble with one tire coming off, I think the wheel must of gotten bent out of shape or something. I bought some new rings but was still happening so they are all glued now. Tire hasn't come off since.

the tekno axles are worth it as my mamba monster twisted the stock ones like pretzels, the strc mount is okay if you fill in the holes with silicone sealer, but the king hedz one is better. i think this is a fun truck but there is no way the traxxas people didnt see the probs in the design.the main ones being dirt access and part failures. since they offer the mamba set up as an option and had to run it they knew the weak spots....however i do have two of them and they are a blast.....
