If you go too far or have a motor too small for your application it will result in heat and can also be very bad for the battery if it's not up to the task. Haven't you yet noticed how powerful (quick or torquey) the same brushless motor can be on the same gearing in the same truck by simply changing to a higher C rated lipo? Do you really think gearing could make this impact? Give it a try drop in a crappy 15c lipo or some nimh's then drop in a nice low IR 65c lipo I guarantee it makes more of an impact in torque than ANY gearing combination you can fit in this truck.

I know I'm sure others are bored.. I’ll stop on this tangent as well.
I agree and disagree completely.
Yes, lower C lipos will have less power through the cycle than a higher C lipo of course that's a given.
But, I am talking about using the same lipo/motor and now using a smaller spur versus a larger spur.
If you can't see that well...
Maybe I should have been more clear as to using same motor/same lipo.
At least we can agree on lower gearing = longer runtimes.

Anyone know off hand what the weight of the stock steel losi turnbuckles are vs the weight of the lunsford titanium? Trying to decide if I want to make the plung for a full set or not.

I'm not gonna weigh each one but the steel 65mm weighs 6.1 grams and the titanium 65mm (Lunsford) weighs 3.5 grams

I formatted all the info on the first page, should make it a bit easier to sort through. It was becoming a cluster funk, I fixed it.

I put a section for turnbuckle lengths, can someone PM me the lengths I will toss those up. Also anything else you guys feel needs to be up there, breeze over it and let me know. Thanks all who helped get me the info that is posted now, 5000+ post is a bit much to read.

Great work salad!! Losi oughta sponser you for your work.

Just to let you know, I have to do some more checking but if the hobbyking charger is adding correctly I am putting as much as 7100 into these 6000 nanotechs and that's running to cutoff. No heat at the end of the charge at 6 amps either. I am suspect of it but that's what its telling me. What have you found with yours?

Yesterday I received my M2C 4mm carbon towers, great quality as always from Mitch at M2C. For the 810 and Ten T guys looking for a stronger wing mount, the M2C has enough material to drill another hole to install the 8ight wing mount. I will post some pictures of the towers later today. M2C has towers in stock.

For the guys running the Neu 1509 motor...do you need a reducer sleeve to run it in this truck?

Also...does this motor run well on a 2 cell with an RX8?

I would expect Ryan to comment more this morning but some of us are testing pins others are replacing Ten-T ones (the interim pin Losi sent out) as needed.

You want the length of the stock turnbuckles? If so, I can measure mine this afternoon and post it. I already replaced them with the titanium ones for the 8ight.
