It looks good , BUT is a little expensive IMO , for a little higher you could get a name brand system that will actually have a waranty that you can use if something goes wrong . It would be worth the extra money IMO .

Not knocking Hobbywings stuff as I run one of their systems and I know how well they work , but it only cost me 70.00 so if it died I wouldnt be too upset .

you'd be better off buying a Mamba max pro or RX8 coupled with a castle creations 3800kv motor or 4.5 550 shortcourse motor.

Right , just swap out the 810's axles and hexes (they are 17mm) , use what ever 1/8 buggy wheel/tires you want , take off the front/rear bumpers and add the 810's wing mount/wing and front bumper . put on the 810's body mounts and try to find a body that fits , unless you use an 810 body . Though the 810 chassis might be a little shorter ? Not sure .....

I bet Losi brings out the 810E as soon as demand for the SCTE is filled and the diff pin problem is resolved .

Just keep in mind that if you do run 2s, invest in a nice battery. Currently running a 50c 5000mah and a 55c 6100mah battery and dont have problems with either. Hope this helps.
Thanks! Here's what Randy Pike from Tekin suggested when I asked him the same question:

"The 5.5 will be fine on 3s. Make very sure you gear it correctly and check temps every few minutes until you know you've got it right.

We have some setups on the website for 2s and the 5.5... Cut the timing on those by at least half if you run 3s."
I have it geared at 18 for bashing purposes. Just wanted to see how it runs with this pinion. I know for the track I'll have it geared for 15.

I finally raced my truck yesterday, what a beast . I have the rx8/4.5 set-up, with 5-7-3 in the diffs, with "Chrispins" of course. I suck at off road, but have always enjoyed running it. As bad as I am I ran 17 laps on a track that my best run was 9 laps with my SC 10 .

I do have a question, All of my shock boots came loose and caused the springs to hang up. I've been following this thread from the 1st page but don't remember much conversation on this. I like the idea of the boot, but I must admit I have no experience with them on an rc. Thoughts ?

Default Tekin/Castle Facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, thanks to all the Losi guys here for making the best shortcourse truck on the market today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Second, thanks to Chris for his "Chrispins"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna post this one time. This is not my opinion this is facts from my testing. I set up my truck with the Tekin SC4X 7.5T 3000kv and my buddies with the Castle 1415 2400kv motor. Both on 3s. Both geared to achieve the same theoretical top speed (37mph). Yesterday we raced on a very large 8th scale outdoor track. I have always used either Neu or castle/neu motors and this was my first Tekin experience Out the box the tekin didn't have enough balls to make the jumps and my buddy passed me in the straight like i was sitting still! Before the day was over I had gone up two teeth on the pinion. In the main I raced him down the very long straight and we were pretty much the same speed. With that being said I could safely say that both trucks in a real life situation were set up and geared comprable. Off the track after a 8 minute main the tekin was 195 degrees and the castle/neu was 151.
Moral of the story.................If you have solely used tekin, novak, or any other non Y wind, non 4 pole motors then you deserve the experience of trying a neu or castle neu motor! When I got home last night I immediately ordered a new Neu motor, the 1512 1y. I know that is what castle calls a "Buggy Motor" but let me tell you, IT WORKS. Just try it! I know Neu is expensive but it is well worth it. If you are not sure what all those number and letters mean just ask an I can recommend a setup for your needs weather it be a 2s or 3s setup.
Here are some various pics from yesterday...............

OK and now for the GOODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My buddy is Jeff. He didnt finish well with the Losi but he is new at this. The 2nd and 3rd place trucks are Hypers and we all used to finish very close when I was running my Hyper as well.

IMHO... the best place for the rubber shock boots is the trash can.

The 810 body is too short. the 8ight body barely fits due to the longer wheel base of the scte, you need to extend the rear body mount

Hey guys question ran my scte friday night and loved it only thing i changed was diff oil i ran 5-7-2 and finished 2nd to another losi. But it seems to nose dive off of the jumps. I know this thing is heavy but im wondering if the rear springs are too hard and its rebounding off the jump forcing the nose down? Should i try softening the rear a little and see what happens?

thanks
