Can anyone confirm if the HD rod ends for the 8ight are compatible with the SCTE HD Pivot Ball Set?

Okay, thank you!

I think that I don't have the current diff gears. I do recall something about those. I believe I have the older ones. When I maintenanced my truck I saw no visual signs of alarm there with my older versions. So, I'm not too concerned about that at this time. I will order some as a prevantative move.

What was the problem with the older versions?

Sorry to ask questions that have been rehashed a million times. It's a huge thread.

There really was nothing "wrong" with the old ones. A new mold was needed so they made the teeth engage a little more with the new ones. The finish came out a little better as well. As with anything if there was a change there must have been something "wrong" with the old ones but they worked fine. Given the oppertunity to make them better with a new mold they did. That was all there was to that. If you read way back with gear failures 90%+ of those were related to the soft diff pin issues fixed a long long time ago.

Smile Do I have the newest edition SCTE

The white sticker on my battery holder is "M45-899AZ". Is that the newest edition of the SCTE? Thanks for reply.

+1 to both..

I was being a wise guy based on prior posts.. you had to read them all to get the joke. I'm not by any means saying there is a bearing issue with the pro4 line of motors (that is why I made the extra comment under saying no worries w/ the pro4).

They seem to be great motors, I've heard of like 2 people on here complain about a bearing failure and we don't have a clue how the motor was treated or the conditions in which it was run. You must also keep in mind tolerances and all items have a % failure rate (hopefully small). At any of the 4 tracks I run, nobody has had an issue with a pro4 that I've heard of. Those abec5 bearings should easily last a year without any extra parts if they are treated properly.. iMO you don't need bearings wedged into spaces not machined or designed for it; adding complexity is just asking for more issues than they possibly fix. That was my only point all along; the motor is great as is, run it

Sorry for any confusion.

Anyone switch from the Castle 1410 to the Tekin 4600 pro4 and keep track of runtime? I was wondering how much more the 4600 is going to drain the battery?

I'll be using the 4600 on the outdoor track, but use the 3800 everywhere else; I'd suspect around ~40 to 50 mAH more per minute (with 85% setting used in the rx8). Obviously depends on the track and the driver though. You really need a 6200 to 6600mAH pack (40-90c) to run this motor 10minutes in most conditions from what I've seen.

I ordered 2 of the nano-tech 6.6 lipo batteries last Wednesday and they came in yesterday. I charged them up today and ran them in my SCTE on my backyard track this afternoon. I'm running a MMP and a Tenshock SC411 4600kv and I got 13 minutes of runtime with the nano-techs running as hard as I could. I'm very impressed with these batteries, it was a noticeable increase in power over my ProMatch and GensAce batteries. I guess it's the higher C rating? I don't know? I have a tripple right out of a turn that I usually have to hit just right to clear smoothly but this afternoon I was clearing it easily with the nanos. With the other batteries after about 4 or 5 minutes of run time I couldn't clear the tripple at all but with the nanos I could clear it all the way until I hit the LVC. I can't give any opinion on these as far as durability because I just got them but performance wise these bad boys are awesome. I just got the Tenshock last week also and I'm coming off of a Castle 1410 3800KV. This Tenshock is awesome, very fast. I havn't been able to run a Pro4 yet but this thing is a good bit more powerful than my 1410. I'm definitely not disappointed with the purchase of the batteries or the motor. 2 thumbs up for both!

Approx how much run time you get out of the 6k? Approx weight?

I was just wondering guys, any way to add a tad more on power steering without changing diff fluids?
