I see that you're running the 3s set up. how is it going with that? I run a tekin rx8 with 6.5 550 can and had nothing but problems with heat. geared down and all. tried everything but still ran hot. Just curious about the castle.

The motor hold up very well without any heat issues with 3s. Geared for 41mph and temp after 8 minutes running at race conditions is allways around 71-72 celcius. Actually my top speed is a little high and can be geared down a tooth and this will make the temps. even lower

Here is mine so far. Bought a Ten-T roller with a bent front tower and 2 busted shock caps. Need to go to the LHS to pick up the caps. Everything else has been replaced. Just waiting on my 17mm conversion items and body to come in. Due to the holidays the mail has been backed up, I guess. Going with 2S setup with the 4.5 Ballistic and a 120A HK ESC as if it were an SCT. Gearing is 48T spur with 14T pinion to start. Possibly gear down to 12-13 if necessary.

did you bore out an 8ight spur? 810/ten-t/SCTE spurs only come in 40T.

Stock ten-T spur gear, sharp file and a few minutes worth of elbow grease. No rubbing and came out really well.

Just a quick suggestion, you would probably be wise to replace the plastic servo horn with an aluminum one - they don't have a good history....

you are probably wanting this:

RC Monster also has a conversion, but I don't think it stretches the vehicle at all lengthwise.

http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcm10tkit

based on what others have said in the thread, seems it dimensions are more "legal"

Is the Castle MMP/2400kv combo on 3s still the best option for this buggy? If so, what gearing works best? I want to be able to compete with other 1/8 scale buggys. Its a large outdoor track with 10 minute mains. Thanks.
