i ran this combo for the first time last weekend. i started with a 17T pinion with a bore reducer adapter. it came off in the first qual. i next went with an ofna 1/8" 16T. i liked the 17T better, but the 16 still worked. if you have faith in the bore reducers, i'd start with a 17T.

Mine is a ten-t with 810 gear. Everything fits perfectly.

Thanks for the heads up on the servo horn. I know they crap out easily. I haven't had good luck with the aluminum horn though since they wear against metal gear servos, since aluminum is softer. I rather use Dubro composite horns.

So I picked up a roller to have some fun with. Doubt it will ever get raced, just fun time at 2 tracks, one small, one medium, both outdoor.

Have MMP and 3800 4 pole motor.

Will 2s be okay or do I have to go 3s?

Thought about just getting a Pro4 4000 or 4600. Not too much info on these in this thread, but plenty on them in the scte thread.

Well, I just ordered the custom jhautz rcm battery tray. Right now with a cc 3800 I am sitting at 6 lbs rtr wtih a 5000 hardcase 2s. I am going to try to get below 5 lbs 8 oz. That should help with run time and any heat in the electronics.

That's quite a list you got there. Been looking to do the same with my Losi's but I still need to finish my Ten to 810 conversion and get a new ESC for it.

Better post some pics for us to drool over

Just ran the buggy on my sidewalk, yard and street for the first time. Ran the buggy stock, with CC 2400 kV motor and 3s. WOW. Almost seemed overpowered. I ran a 17t pinion with stock spur. I punched the throttle and it flipped instantly. I could be rolling at about 40% throttle and pin it and it would wheelie forever.

Impressive. Finally got my buggy running and it's nowhere near that fast, although, I'm running a Tekin SC4x 5.5 and 2s lipo with 16/40 gearing. Kinda regret getting this motor and not the CC 1415 now.

Try 3S and go down a couple teeth on the pinion. I normally run a SC4X 7.5 on 3S and it's quick, but nowhere near the punch of a 4S 1/8 buggy setup. I get a 5.5 on 3S with the right gearing will be very fast. Heat will be the issue. Cut a lot of vents in the body.
