I know the 810 meets the size/deminsions for an 1/8th scale other than weight, but is there any reason why an 810 wouldn't be allowed in a ROAR event? I know it's under weight, but would that be the only factor....weight?
Is there any reason why you couldn't slap a Castle 1415 with a 4s in an 810, add some weight and compete at any ROAR E-1/8th event?

Not a problem adding weight. I've got several packs of old M2C Racing weights (don't think they make them anymore) that I could bolt in to make class weight.
Then on club racing (it's a smaller track anyway), just take the weights out and run a 1410 with 2s.
Sounds like a plan to me.

I could easily run 20 minutes with my SCTE (maybe even more...I just pulled it off the track because the next heat was gonna start) with a Castle 1410 on a 2s 5500 pack geared with a 13t. 10 minutes with an 810 is cake.

Got the RC Monster kit ordered, their 5mm 13t and 15t pinions, and the 5mm to 1/8" bore reducer so I can use 10th scale motors.
Also ordered 2 sets of Chris pins (one for my nitro 810 and one for my e conversion).
Any other "must have" hopups to get these badboys race-ready? I saw several other items at Chris' website.

Also, the RC Monster kit's battery tray seems super bulky to me. Has anyone drilled or used a dremel on it to reduce it's weight? Seems like I could easily cut it's weight in half just by Swiss cheesing it up.

1. Diff Pins - everyone knows about these if you have an older car, and the ChrisPins are excellent
2. Turnbuckles - the stock ones slip pretty easy with the exposed wheels of the 810. I've been using the Losi 8B 2.0 Ti turnbuckles that are both lighter and have never slipped. I just used them with fresh stock 810 end pieces.
3. Shock Towers - the exposed shock towers of the 810 bend easy, very easy. I've been using the Losi SCTE carbon towers with zero problems. I've now ordered a set of the SNR Graphite towers to solve problem 4.
4. Wing Mount - the wing mount on the 810 is very weak. It doesn't break often, but bends the first time the car gets upside down. SNR Graphite has an 810 carbon tower that allows you to mount the full Losi 8B wing mount which is much stronger than the 810. If you want one of these you need to email SNR and ask for it. It is not offered on the SNR shopping cart.
BONUS - with the bigger wing mount you can safely mount a full 1/8 wing and that adds a lot of rear end corner traction and thus corner speed to the 810.

Hey guys, looking to sell my 810 as a roller. And I think this is the right crowd that has or would buy it. PM me the price you think its worth. Hate to clog this forum for that.
Has Chris Pins, Alu front shock tower, spare arms, knuckles, spare Diff pins, 3 sets of Diff gears. It will include the stock engine and servos.

When running as an 810e I've found four weaknesses depending on the age of your car.

Questions:
1. Have you tried the carbon chassis?
2. Are there any other 810 length aftermarket/lightened chassis options?

Good Idea. I think it's a must for those of us running an 810. The car handles so much better with a 1/8 wing, but the stock wing mount can barely handle the small stock wing. I almost bought the SNR 810 carbon chassis, but I'd be afraid to drive it outdoors with an unprotected carbon chassis.

Another thing I do to the bottoms of all my custom carbon chassis is add 2-3 coats of finishing resin to the textured side for a surface that can handle pretty much about anything. And when needed just sand it down and give it another coat, no worries over here about running carbon chassis.

I'm interested in used or new 810 rollers if you can ship it internationally.

I decided to build a 810-e . I'll use 3800kv castle motor and 3s setup with scrte mod1 spur and ofna 3.2mm bore mod1 pinions. The diff ratio of 810 is 3.88 and the mod1 spur is 40t if I'm not wrong. So I should use 11t pinion with 3800kv motor and 3s lipo to achieve 40mph top speed but I'm not sure if the losi motor mount is proper for setting the gear mesh right with 40t spur and 11t pinion. Which is the smallest pinion did you use with losi mount and scte spur?
