25 35 in mine. Seems like a 10 weight in difference the better it feels. Seems to make the kit more linear and more predictable in the apex . I don't run any weight in mine. I am practicing tonight may just try a 30 40.

caster and kick up angle.

Can somebody tell me what the kick up angle is ?
what the standard caster block angle is ?
giving a combind angle of ?
Are these NOT adjustable. ie no other caster blocks are available at any other angle ?
What are the advantages of the blue aluminium caster blocks available ?
And where can the likes of this information about angles be found.

This side of calling AE I don't know. Its some sort of top secret magic that make the kit so good I guess, heck I even tried a team driver. My bet is 25 total 30 at the most. You could try to Google option parts.

Anyone know what the team ran for tires at Motorama last year? Green codes all around?

just got my b44.1 today!! before i build it is there anything it needs??? i heard something about an extra shim in the slipper assembly. . . or is it good right out of the box??

any input is appreciated

Shim the ring and pinion Gear tight in the diffs, start with the manual setting but if it feels like it has play then add some shims to tighten it up a bit. The plastic will wear in and be right.
I see you are at BRCR so you prob wont need the ballast weight, Get with Luke and he should dial ya in!

I put all my shims on the gear side of the diff. I run a hot motor. But if running a 10.5 or slower box stock is fine. A small drop of blue Loktite on the slipper nut helps. Mine has backed off before. Other than that set it box stock and dial from there. The kit is pretty good at any track with that set up. Just pick the right tire.

thank you both for your input. . im going to build it tonight. i went over the instructions it looks like it will be an easy build. i will talk to luke about a good local set-up. i think i will start with a 10.5 so i can get used to the feel of it

Losi springs are 1/4 the price and about the same.
I ran silver Losi front's and it helped a ton on a rough track.

What oil weight and valves are you running with the big bores?

Front
#2 piston
35Wt oil
Orange BB Losi Spring

Rear
#1 piston
30wt oil
White BB Losi Spring

21mm ride height front
20mm ride height rear

I think I may do a different oil or piston in the rear

The chassis slapping is driving me nuts

Asharus 02-07-2012 01:47 PM

Try raising the ride height to 23mm F/R. This is what our locals run for ride height. Same rear spring as well. Downsiding properly is key too.

For reference this is the track

springs

I have been reading about the BB losi springs everyone is running. I bought some front and rear 22 spings and the rear ones seem a bit long for the rear shocks on the 44.1. What is the part numbers for the springs everyone is running. Already bought the losi cups and RPM shock clips for the conversion.
