Nice job with the wrap Jmoney!!
I got a question for you guys, the other night while racing I noticed a crunchy noise, I thought it was the rear diff gear again, after the race I tested it and the crunchy noise only happens while braking, still thinking its the rear diff took it apart and gears are perfect , any ideas what it might be? I notice a little excessive wear on the spur, it only had a race night and it was pretty banged up, maybe it's that ? |

In 4wd I usually run the gear mesh tight, but not binding. Also check the front diff for excessive wear. During braking, more load is transferred to the front wheels. |
Cool, I did check the mesh on the pinion and spur, it's on the loose side, maybe it is skipping that would explain the wear on it only after one race day, and just to be safe I will take a look at the front diff too !
Thanks! |
Sure would like some big bores......

I have me a B44.1 on its way! We have an indoor offroad carpet track that just opened a few weeks ago where I live. I've been just about living there with my B4.1 and now can't wait for some 4WD Buggy!! :D
I plan on running an 8.5 X12 or Reedy Sonic paired with a LRP SXX V2 esc. I will be placing an order shortly for some backup parts. What types of things should I be stocking up on for the B44.1? <---i just found my answer on the previous page:blush: |
Will,
Add in diff cases. Mainly for the rear. Those seem to break almost as much as front arms do, just not as easy to see. |

front arms, front shock shafts, shock caps, and mayb towers. in all retrospect, the car is relatively durable, but it will depend on your driving ability to keep the car in one piece. This list is just common stuff i have broken or seen broken. shock, diff, and cva rebuilds are always good to have as well as common parts such as spurs, pinions, spare screws, etc. hope this helps:nod:

Could also go with the kyosho big bores. Switched them on my 44.1 and it's great. No more broken shafts. Seems like the arms have been made out of something weaker lately. My buddy used to steal shafts all the time, now all he takes is arms. They even seem to be different in color. Maybe just load up on arms. 2 packs should hold you for a while since they are interchangeable.
