I ran the VXL in mine at first on 3s geared 13/42 and it was plenty. Maybe get a ESC fan and HS/fan to cool everything. But mine was fine without them

Hello,

I'm looking for a rc car that I can race AND bash.

I need it to:
- be durable
- cheap to maintain
- use my hardcase lipos in 2S 5000mah from my Cougar SV
- use standard size servo
- be fun to drive
- easy to carry in a backpack

So I'm considering the Hyper 10TT. What do you think?

What kind of motor and ESC would you use in 2S for racing and bashing? I need the car to be smooth and efficient.

Hello,

I'm looking for a rc car that I can race AND bash.

I need it to:
- be durable-- The TT is about as durable as any other 4wd, but it would be a good idea to spend $30-50 on a few aluminum parts before you go smashing around...
- cheap to maintain--- costs about as much as any other car available $6 HUBS, $10 ARMS
- use my hardcase lipos in 2S 5000mah from my Cougar SV-- shouldnt be a problem...
- use standard size servo-- it does
- be fun to drive--- its a fun truck, tons of traction and light weight= fast and high flying
- easy to carry in a backpack--- it should fit

So I'm considering the Hyper 10TT. What do you think? cant go wrong with the tt

What kind of motor and ESC would you use in 2S for racing and bashing? I need the car to be smooth and efficient. I would look into a Castle sidewinder 3800 kit {$85 shipped with a fan} http://www.gonitrohobbies.com/Castle...10-0090-00.htm
good luck

Ok thanks!

I see that but the 1410 is only available with an ESC and I already have an MMP ESC.

Is there any +/- 4000kv motor out there that wouldn't heat so much in 2S? If it's sensored it's even better

Sensored
Novak Ballistic 5.5T 550

Sensorless
Castle 1410 http://www.castlecreations.com/products/nc1410.html

Novak should run cooler since it's much bigger

I found the tekin SC4X 5.5 (sensored) and tenshock SC401 4000kv (sensorless) also.

The 1410 is only sold as a combo I think

Is there any necessary upgrade for the Hyper 10TT?

2 free things to make your truck more bash worthy
Boil arms and hubs {easy as it sounds, I use a pan with a screen in it, bring the water to a rolling boil drop in parts for 25-35 minutes and dont let them sit on the bottom},
And heat treat the shafts {need a torch, magnet and some oil {I use peanut oil} heat the shaft until it loses its magnetic-ness and then dip it in the oil... Never bend one again... this will make them a lot darker in color so if you like'm shiny dont do it

How well do they hold up and are they fun to drive? I haven't seen any 4wd 10th scale truggies at my local track, but they run a lot of open/mod classes so I could probably run it with the 4x4 buggies or short course trucks if I got one.

Also, is there a 17mm conversion for this to run 1/8th scale wheels/tires?
Why would you wanna run 1/8 buggy wheels??? I think this rig works best low to the ground. I'm assuming you mean 4X4 1/10 buggies......if so, I can't see them allowing this to run with those, maybe SC 4X4. TT and SC, that would be cool to see. Just my .02.

I run them on mine for a couple of reasons. One, I had 4 or 5 sets already for my 1/8 buggy and two, a lot more choices and easier access to purchase 1/8 buggy wheels than the stock wheels/tires that came with the TT.

And I dont think it raises the body much more than stock, if I remember correctly, the stock tires have a bigger sidewall than my buggy tires. So it works out pretty even.

That makes sense. Might as well deplete that stock first.

Just so you know, you can just buy the stock rims from Nitrohouse and get 1/10 Truck Tires (2.2) Holeshots M3 and Close Cell Inserts from Proline........great combo and if you type in "sqrl10" in the bonus box you'll get 10%.

Looks like the trades not going to go through, but I am happy that it got me looking into these trucks as I hadn't paid much attention to the 10th scale truggies...it may make one of these my next purchase now.

Questions?? Which Combo?

Has anyone tried this out on the TT?
Castle Creations 1/10 Mamba Max Pro SC System 2400kV

Debating on using this, or the other SC combo:
Castle Creations 1/10 Sidewinder SC System 3800kV

Thoughts...?
