Hyper TT 4wd 1/10th Truggy Thread

I know the ideal setup is a 550 can, but is anyone getting away with running a 540? What's your setup?

A guy at the track was running a velenion esc and motor

Tekin all the way.... RSpro with a Tekin 6.5 and high torque TT2277 armature. It drags the wing down the front straight! I had to detune it a ton and its still balistic. I have no fear of the 550 motors in a truck this light.
I wish I could get lighter springs though, then I would lighten it all up. For now its a blast, and would love to win one of our races with it. Been 4th and 5th so far. Wrecked the stock foams in just three runs with it....

That is what I was hoping for. I happen to have several 6.5s and another RS Pro. Thanks.

I am getting ready to purchase one of these trucks very soon, but I have a few questions first. I think I have covered this whole thread, but cant find my answers. Thanks a bunch in advance for any help.
I have not been able to find any gear specifications for this truck. Can anyone give me the Spur tooth count, and is it mod1? How about the tooth counts on the differential ring and pinion, or at least the ratio?
How about the stock tires, the pattern looks decent for clay tracks, but do they hook up reasonably well considering they are stock? How about the overall diameter of the tires?
Thanks again for any help.

Diffs Diffs Diffs
So this is my first rig with diffs, so the whole diff oil subject is very new to me. When you suggest using something like 5-5-1, what oil rating are you referring to? 5000wt and 1000wt Ofna oil? Or 5000cst and 1000cst AE fluid? Mugen # rating? Or more specifically, what EXACTLY are you using?

42t mod 1 delrin spur. Kit comes with a 13t 3mm shaft pinion. Stock tires not bad foams not good. Tires do seem to look like they hook up on a few vid's that have been posted. Bad thing is the come premounted. Tires depend on brand my clay switch 2.0's are 3.92in or 100mm and roll out at 12.65in. Stock tires are 4.125in or 105.5mm and roll out at 13.125. I will get you the ratio tomorrow night if someone doesn't get to it first.

I did have this problem when I first changed out the grease in the center diff for oil. What I did to remedy it was to put a small bead of "Ultra Grey high temp silicone" that I use for water pumps and stuff on the paper gasket of the diff case. I held the spur, put the paper gasket on the spur, put a small amount of the silicone gasket sealant on it, then put it on the diff housing. If you do this, let it sit for a few hours to dry and then you're golden. Haven't leaked a single drop of diff fluid since. Buddy of mine did the exact same thing and he hasn't had any problems either.
