Hi everyone, i've built my RC8Be with an LRP SPX8 combo, Vector 8 2800kv motor, and in 10 min the esc died, lot of smoke, and the motor was hot and burn too! I was using a 17T pinion with a 4s Lipo, is this the problem?
i'll appresiate any help!!!

.I'm running a 1900kv with a 19T pinion on it and temps remain at optimal level.
17T on 2800kv -- Your ESC did exactly as it should. Burn out

To fix this buy a motor 2200kv or lower. I wouldn't run more than a 15 or 16T pinion with the 2200kv.

It just sounds like the motor was over geared. A 17T pinion on a 2800 sounds really high. I know a buddy of mine that is running a 2650 and he has gone through 3 different escs. I am running a 2200 and have had no problems. Even on hot days in the 90s my motor only will get up to about 140 while my esc only gets up to about 120 after a 10 min main.

Right now I have the JR Mitch setup in my car, minus the option pistons as I didnt have them at the time, and for me its pretty good, some minor push in the front end on tight turns, but nothing I cant live with.
Thanks

Haha. A 2800kv motor for starters

Also I run the 1515H 1Y (2200Kv) on a 23t-44T now and it runs way cooler because of the build-in fan. This is all offroad bashing on and off the track

Today was my first run with the worlds upgrades installed.
Chassis, towers, b plate, and modified arms.
The shocks had 30w oil, 8 hole pistons. One other change i made from my previous set up was I am now running 18 deg caster rather then 14.
Now I am by no ways a good driver. Just average. But the car now runs smoother through the bumps, corners better, handled the whoops much better. Visusaly you can see the car is much smoother in the bumps.
I can also power through the corners better. Maybe this is the caster change but.. I can tell you that I lowered the inner camber link on the rear and the rear end became much more planted. Then I moved the mount for the swaybar in 5mm and it got better.
The 30w oil is to light now where befor it was good. The buggy was to bouncy down the straight and it bottom hard, even with the heavest springs.
I'll go to 32.5w and see. But that just till my 2 stage pistons come in then back the drawing board.
Overall I feel there has been a significant improvement. Now to further fine tune

Im gonna try grease in my center diff. It runs hot, I want to see if this stops that. I had 10k oil in it. The Superlube grease has a lot less ressistance. feels like 5k oil. Update, on grease on the outdrive cups. I ran 30 to 40 batts with green grease on the cup shaft and they are still perfect. So that is an improvement over FT black grease. If weather permits I will race this weekend & update you.

After running mine for a year I was considering a new kit. Instead I got the worlds kit arm, towers, b plate, 10 hole tapered pistons and light blue kyosho springs and BCE chassis. All I can say is WOW, what a difference! The car just works better; a lot better.

Do these fit the RC8Be and are they worth it?
