Dont forget about Nitro Valley Raceway in Cherryville, NC just on the west side of Charlotte. This weekend is their first round of the NC State Champ Series, put together by Team Associated driver Brandon Melton. I know him and a couple other factory drivers will be in attendance as well.

Check it out on rcsignup

I'll be in Winston-Salem, NC. I took at a look at the map. That's a good distance away from where I'll be..

This looks to only be about 80 miles. I'll have to check this out!

Punching hole in tire topic:

Billy, that tool you posted a link for shows a tool that will work when the tire is off the rim...

What about when you purchase pre-glued tires?

And, IMO it seems 1/8" is a little big...

_

that line is approximately 1/8". Poke a hole that big in my tire? Idk about that...

I could see 1/16" possibly...

But yea, i'm curious what to do with pre-glued's. I'd just take a needle and poke it in a few places evenly around my tire (as an initial though / idea...)

Dude - doubling the diameter quadruples the area. You will save FOUR TIMES the weight of rotating mass, bro.

Please sense the sarcasm. Yes, 1/8" does seem big.

Cutting a "V" out in my hard tread on-road tires will be killer. I'll definately "F" that up...

I wish I had an ear piercing gun. Something like that... punch a quick needle through it (of course step up the gauge of the needle from peircing size to make a hole size)

here is the problems

Missing pieces ( pieces AE doesn't have in stock hmmm) 89234 Front end brace
Bearing are not tight in the diff cases allowing them to spin.
That is so far what i have seen up to E bag.

Oh well you can't have everything~ the first one was perfect. second one sucks!

Can you use some needle nosed pliers, pinch a bit of tire rubber and then slice it off with a sharp knife?

Very sharp drill bit?

That does suck. Have you called AE? I have always heard that they get you sorted. If they are not in stock maybe they can credit you? Or a free Worlds upgrade kit when they ship? You can always ask them...turn the minus into a plus.

AKA premounts already have the tire punched. Nice that AKA doesn't overlook the little details.

yes they will ship when they get it again.

We just found another problem the rear CVA axle stub isn't drilled deep enough so you cant slide the pin in.

Oh boy!

Oh boy!
Sounds like it was assembled on a Friday before a long weekend! Yikes.

Make sure to disassemble all the 'prebuilt' parts and make sure they are right.

Just think if this was a RTR - thing wouldn't even drive.

sure the goal is to get a hole so dirt can escape. On pre-glued wheels I just use some small wire cutter-type snips and cut a small v-shape. Some of the holes I felt were too big but don't seem to affect performance very much if at all. But I'm not good enough to tell anyway

AKA stuff seems legit; I run a few of their tires and rims and really like them.

I talked to aka and they said 1/8 is a little big. Thy said go one size smaller and punch two holes. I just mounted mine up and might have made a tiny mistake. Look at the pix below and tell me if it's a big deal or not. Might just make this one a back wheel. The lip is not all the way flat.
