for sure in my st and sc10, the top plate strips out way less. all of that mass being held on by those 4 underside screws beats the crap out of the plastic top plate. Less of an issue with the b4, but still can be an issue on harsher tracks. like concrete clay. I always found the carbon front arms to be more brittle. So I run the plastics. But on high bite, the stiffer arms will be more consistent as a tuning option.

Side note. For my kids sc10, I replaced the 4-40 screws with 3mm screws on her sc10. The 4-40 holes were stripped. 4 weeks and the 3mm seems to bite way more on the plastic top plate. (the screws that mount the bumper to the chassis.

Right you are sir. Carbon arms are usually a lot more prone to breaking.

just put a nut on the bottom of the ballstud on the u-brace if it becomes loose.

use carbon with c-brace
It stiffens rear chassis, better for high traction

Plastic brace more Better on less traction & bumps
(outdoors)

Is anyone using the Team SR carbon fiber front shock tower? It is a little expensive at $30 but would not need any mods for the big bores

carbon top deck and U brace..why? because it works better on the +8 chassis. Less flex....I try not to question AE team drivers with engineering degrees.

WC, I use the longer ball studs (400) on my shaved carbon Ubrace and use a nut underneath the U brace. Otherwise, the ball stud gets wobbly too quickly.

Wait and see if AE updates the towers on the new buggy

yeah, I was doing that also. I will do it again once I settle in on a ball stud height, lol. Because changing it with the nuts on sucks, lol.

Yeah, because the dual pad slipper was such a knockout design that no other setup was needed ... wait, VTS? And we hit it out of the park on the chassis design enough so that no form of stiffeners were needed ... whoops, chassis brace?

And you yourself WC aren't exactly thrilled with the AE parts on the B4 enough to only run the stock slipper setup or even a VTS one, instead of your Avid one?

Ultimately, By the very nature of the fact that people are modifying the vehicle at ALL, including the team from how it comes out of the box shows that you can always improve. Any engineer worth his salt doesn't sit pat on a design. Seldom do you get it right the first time or have no room for improvement.

Without questioning if you can gain more performance from the platform with further changes, regardless if that questioning comes from the grass roots level or AE special forces, we probably would still all be running the first gen RC10s, brushed motors, etc ...

Heck, break out the tether line ...

Food for thought ...
