I'm going to be running the Avid Triad Slipper at wcrc tomorrow and will let you guys know the results. I have the new slipper in my B4.1 WC car and will be putting it in my b44.1 after I get the required 4 AE axle shims. The spur gears are usa made and are very true...the material they r made out of appears to be durable and quiet. The slippers and spare spur gears are now available so no need to worry about being without spares if you strip a spur. One of the major differences you guys will notes about the Triad slipper is how adjustable it is. Also, the pad glazing issue the v2 slipper had will no longer be an issue with the Teflon Slipper pads used in the Triad.

The batch 2 rear springs are also now available. They are supposed to work even better than the original ones and I aim to find out why!

Stay tuned...

Hmmm...I have 3 lrp sxx v2 speedos...and I have never had a problem with them...I also know a lot of people that also run lrp and have never seen them fail...best speedo I've ever ran..smooth and feels great. Ive never heard of problems with them except on rctech...and rctech is a small population of rc racers...

So as of now LRP is only shipping out fixed speedos?

Or is it possible I could get a problemed one?

The way I read it, is that they're shipping out broken speedos. If you want a "fixed" one you have to call. Or, if you desire a broken one, just call to make sure.

Haaaa! Maybe you should talk to Michael @AE repair dept....his desk is full of them!!... but as far as I'm not concerned my repaired V2 is waaaaaay better than when i sent it in...New program setup is gnarly!! They told me every V2 can be sent in and updated with new linear bec and program...i highly suggest UPGRADING!!!

Have 4 Sxx V2 & 2 Sxx with bad BEC ...

Waiting for Ae to send me just one V2 back for warranty , sent it in June 10 .

Still don't have it back , that's almost 3 months now waiting too..( including 2 phone calls about the status of )

All my team mates have a similar story ....

also
No one will even buy or use a Lrp motor these days because of bad quality & design ...

Guessing Lrp is in a world of hurt business
wise with their customers ...

BTW

Been using a returned SXX , its BEC failed after 6 months , have a Castle BEC added to keep racing .

GOOD NEWS after all that bad I just posted ...
Have a teammate receive his warrenty repaired Lrp back just yesterday.

Hideeho
There has been a lot of talk lately about the vts/triad slipper, with good information being supplied. There has also been some good information about the garodisk(sp?) provided. Has anyone done back to back comparisons with the vts/triad vs the garodisk?

Did call um twice , the first call I had to leave a voice mail that did not get returned ..

2nd phone call was on Aug 20 , Ae said the parts are arriving soon for making repairs possible .

That story appears to be true ...

Been a customer of LRP sense the V6 was first introduced.

I got both of my SXX V2's back in about a month and the guy who owns em now ran one all day yesterday in pretty nasty weather conditions. He had no issues.
