Buy the Team Associated V2 shock tool #7494. It is the cheapest most useful tool you'll ever own, for $3.99 you can't go wrong. For the ball-cups just use the end for 1/4" nuts and just slide it under the ball cup and twist or pry up. This does a great job of keeping ball cups looking nice.

The opening in the middle of this tool also keys into the slot on the bottom of the V2 shock bodies. Also useful for sliding into the outdrive slots when rebuilding a diff. Handy for tightening shock bushings, and more. Great little tool!!

Under shock tower in front of diff. Top of ballast pointing forward. Fits in there just perfect. No goo or tape needed.

Just built and installed a new GEAR diff for my SC10.

Do I need to break it in? If so how do I go about doing that?

I have battery forward with 2oz in the back of battery tray under the foam, 1/4oz in each rear triangle and 1/2oz in front of shock tower on front bumper.
When track is wet I will remove 1 from rear foam.

Is it more of a click, or a squeal, or a vibration?
