I have the FT shocks on my RS truck and If the shafts are the same., you can save a lot of money by just buying the threaded bodies, instead of the whole shock kit. But having spare shocks is nice
The FT V2 shocks use a different 'rebuild' kit. Actually all you would need is fresh o-rings so maybe it's no big deal. I thought about buying the RS shocks as a back up. Not sure if they will mount up the same as the pretty V2's.

How are you guys putting your weight behind and under the battery?

It looks like there is room for one 1/4oz weigth under the battery. Any more then that and you can't get the battery strap installed. I have mine all stacked up at the very back of the battery tray. Pretty much under the rear shock tower.

Hey guys,

What is everyone using for bump stops in the shocks to prevent harsh bottoming out? I can't seem to find anything.

I like the idea of the esc centrally mounted behind the battery, but what about mounting the rx centered? Like on top of the battery strap? Would that throw off the c.o.g. to much? I mean my rx weighs next to nothing.

The V2 shocks in the SC10RS have the same style o-rings and rebuild as the FT V2 shocks. Just the FT shocks have a threaded body. My question was based I guess to try to save people money that bought the RS RTR truck and want threaded shocks, I think you can just buy the Threaded bodies instead of the whole shock kit.

Chris
you can use some pack in the shock or put a small piece of fuel tube on the shock shaft

Is there a specific fuel tube I need to get from the hobby store for the stock SC10 shocks?

bump shims or fuel tubing, ect ..

Not !

If you are bottoming out or slapping hard landings ?

#1 Check the ride height first , too low is not good .

start dog bones level

#2 If the ride height is good and you are still slapping on landings ?

try a 1/2 w thicker oil first or a smaller piston size

Still not happy with the landings ?

Go a stiffer spring on the rear ...

So, do I want to start out as soft as possible and work my way up with oils and spring rates? I can't see how folks aren't bottoming out nonstop with these trucks with as little spring rate and think oil they're using. To me, I've never raced a real vehicle without bumpstops, in fact most desert trucks have aftermarket air bump stops and position sensitive valving with multiple spring rates, so I'm wondering how to set these little trucks up without all of that but still with good performance without slamming the ground off every jump.

Get another foam pad, cut it like your current one. Then trim some foam out of the under side. I'm going to try that.

Here is a crude diagram of a side view-

___________
|........ ____|

This way it is out of site and shouldn't interfere with your current setup.

I don't like running my rx without a box for protection. I guess I could run a balloon over it and put it on the servo or battery strap. I doubt at my level of driving it really matters.

Why not just stack it up all together in the very back of the radio tray and then butt your battery against that?

BTW...I don't use bump stops on my shocks and I have never had a problem.
