It is definitely worth it; so much more consistent and tune-able. I started with the original sc10 kit and have made it a FT over time and the best dollar/performance ratio was the v2 slipper.

I did so last summer and the main difference is that the V2 gives you the ability to more finely tune the slipper.

I see the spring and nut set and the metal discs on Tower but not the pads. I assume they're the same as the V1?

WillD 01-26-2011 09:46 AM

The pads that come with the FT are gold. When I built my FT I never slowed down to examine the difference between white and gold pads. They seemed the same material, but the golds correct me if I'm wrong are a little thicker.

Both pads have the same part # I believe. Before I got my FT I went to order them from amain but got the white ones.

Which parts need to be changed to upgrade the slipper from V1 to V2 ?

Just bought a used SC10.

YES. The adjustment range is much better and you won't bottom the spring out trying to get it tight enough to run a decent brushless motor.

This should be all you need. I upgraded mine a couple months ago.

lol read what Chris said above. It's been a while since I upgraded, I was thinking the V2 came as a complete set.

Quick Question

Does AE make a plastic 1 degree rear hub for the SC10?

Setup

Could someone give me a good setup for a RTR. I am still using the Ball diff and stock hubs. I do have a 3.5 rear toe block installed.

Thanks.

The white ones are like teflon and get slippier over time.

The gold's are something more grippy and stay more consistant.

I recommend that you go to RC10.com and check out the set-up sheets there. It is the best place to start. You need to match your track type with the set-up sheet. For example if you have a high bite clay track look for hig traction set-ups.

Make Sure you get the v2 spring too

gearing for a boosted 13.5?

24/81 is what i am at right now and the Truck feels Lazy.

JEFFs SC10 01-27-2011 04:40 PM

It shouldn't. What are your temps? Go up in pinion and go down to a 75 tooth spur.

Yes, 25/75 is the shizz, for me. I can run it all day and not go over, say 140. 26/75 is do-able, but the motor gets a little too warm for extended runs. Motor is a team epic 13.5 (non boosted obviously).
