Anyknow know if the Exotek rear hubs for the DESC410 will work on the DEX410? The original hubs look similar aside from the extra hinge ping location on the DESC410 hubs.

No, but if Exotek makes some they should find a way to incorporate the captured pin and axle setup from the other trucks and buggy. Great idea!

suppose you could drill/tap your own pin capture.

How can the hubs be that different? I would assume they use the same axles as the DEX410. are the arms wider on the DESC?

Would have loved to use these hubs....sweet gold bling!

Desc410 uses a larger inner bearing, & captured cvd pin. The dex410 does not on either

What would people recommend for performance?

I've actually used Gens Ace (which generlaly fit by the way) before and found them good but think I need one "race" pack for my v3. Any suggestions?

I normally use Gens Ace, Turnigy but I don't race much.
While those are great value packs you probably want some thing better for serious racing.
The pack Panda-PR linked would work or Thunder Power, Max Amps, Team Orion, Reedy, Venom. etc.
While the value packs like Gens Ace and Turnigy are great over all. Name brands pack do seem to give a little more power.
I use the value packs cause the good value. I don't need the extra power per cost since I don't do serious racing. I just like going to the track and doing pratice laps or racing against friends.

I have run both name brand and the smaller ones and to be honest, one over the other is no better. There is no standard for comparing the batteries and each manufacture has their own system. I would suggest to buy the best you can afford. Why do the name brands cost more. Pretty much one word, "Support". If you have a problem with the name brands and takes a simple email or phone call to find some help. Not so easy with the smaller names. Even the smaller companies are showing safety numbers well enough to meet ROAR specifications.

Default saddle pack brands

here are some prices for various saddle packs:
gens-ace 4800 25c (25mm) $25
nano-tech 5600 65c (24.9mm) $55 (including about $9 shipping)
trakpower 5400 60c (25.1mm) $100
reedy 5200 60c (25.1mm) $110
revtech (trinity) 5500 65c (24.5mm) $160
maxamps doesn't offer a saddle pack above 4000mah that is 25.1 or lower.

I have used reedy and nano-tech and they are very similar. The only question is whether to spend almost 3x the money on the revtech?

In terms of support, I haven't had any issues with reedy or nano-tech, but since nano-tech is 1/2 the price, the choice is obvious. Don't believe the hype. Lipo pricing is similar to charging cables for your cell phone. Bestbuy has it for $30, monoprice has it for $3. Do you really think they are that different?

For regular racing with a 7.5 motor, you can also use shorty packs (that way you can share between your 2wd buggy and 4wd buggy.)

Good luck.

If your Into seriuos racing and no issue with $$ then it wuod be great to have those. Randed names in your arsenal, i my self are using IP and turnigy , but im not into seriuos racing, just playing eith friends racing .

So fat i have tried both batteries with great success and wiuld recommend both bat for value and performance.

Just dont forget to read thru the dos and dont of Lipo and will surely be rewarded for it service and useage.

Cheers!!

The 4wd buggy is way over powered so u don`t need a high C battery. For myself the lower C battery works better because the car lot smoother and still have a plenty of power! I personally running the Gens Ace 25C batteries and i alway finishing in the A main and mostly in the top 3.
Few people have issue with puffing batteries! I made the battery holder for my car and when i finished running i just let the battery cool down, after take out from the car and i have no puffing batteries at all!
