anyone run the Truggy motor in a buggy? How does that compare to the standard buggy motor? Seems the truggy motor is more in stock than the buggy ones as far as full units go.

I haven't tried it yet. But I have run Neu 1515's in my buggy on a number of occassions and can't imagine it would be significantly different. When I ran the my 1515 2.5d in my rc8 it actually ran hotter than the 1512 3d. The best I could figure out was that there wasn't enough load on the motor in the buggy given that the same motor runs ice cold in my 8t 2.0 truggy. In short, too much torque. I also found it made the buggy a wheelie machine if not careful. My T8 motor in the truggy can wheelie at will, so it may be too much in a buggy unless you soften the low end down a bit. Not sure how it will handle the lighter load either as far as heat is concerned.

Thanks for the info. The 2200Kv Castle Neu I put in my Rc8 when the Neu 1512 2.5D/F let the magic smoke out definitely had a lot more torque. Good to know then that the Tekin is similar.

I'll probably take a wait and see approach for now. Hoping to see more buggy combos in stock.

I am actually toying around with putting a T8 1350 truggy motor in my x-ray on 5s. I am thinking low rpms (25k) and high gearing might make it run pretty cool and very very efficient. The extra torque should allow me to gear it to the moon to keep the top end similar to a higher kv setup with the smaller motor, but the lower rpms would mean better run times.

But you'll pull more amps because of the higher gearing, so the gain wont be significant.

That's great i guess i'm going back to nitro. I don't understand what the problem is. They say we live in the modern era of technology so why write programs that don't work with modern programs. Way to go. I am so sick of wasting money on crap that i can't even use
