Ok I will retry....currently it shows the 212 as the version on the esc. Ok so I retried updating and it went through the sequences of updating (5 steps) and after 30 seconds were up it said that it failed to update due to a communication error. It then said to retry and it could take several attempts and you may need to use another computer......my other rx8 works with no issue with this computer!?

I did a print screen....

It updates and shows this

Then a few seconds later this screen appears and then closes out hotwire

UPDATE: I just kept reupdating (11 times) and I have no idea why but now it finally updated without erroring out. I got the ESC to work and its back to normal...strange

For you guys having intermittent issues with hotwire. Make sure the usb cable is snug to the hotwire interface. Even though it may light up red with power, it may not be fully seated. I wasted about an hour trying to troubleshoot it when I first got it (it wouldnt communicate with my RX8).

USB's especially on laptops are multiplexed in some fashion. I've found that if I have too many things "running" on my USB's on my netbook for example my success rate for software updates can be affected.

Not sure if this is your case in particular but something to consider.

It looks cool but is a usability fail, I like red esc much better but would take the programming software of the green type any day. #1 problem, not being able to slide bars or input the # I want instead of repeatedly tapping up or down arrows. #2 is the % of 30 on the timing, just give me a scale of 1-30, dont make it more complicated than it needs to be.

You can slide the bars up and down with the mouse or in increments of 5 with the arrows on your keyboard. The % of 30 is only for sensorless Timing Advance, which for most people that run sensored setups it should just be maxed at 100 anyways in case their sensors quit working or come unplugged, that way they still have some advance.

TY, The keyboard arrows is new info to me, thanks, I know I tried to slide the sliders and was unable to (until I try it again I'll mark it up to user error.) The timing info also helps as well.

Hi all,

I have a problem on my RX8, but it is quite interesting. The problem is; when I turn on the power switch on the ESC, the motor starts to turn at the highest rpm and then stops and works normal. But, while running my car, sometimes this situation occurs and I am loosing the control.

I have removed my servos, changed the receiver, changed the voltage protector, disabled the ESC's bec and feed the receiver through another battery, but problem still continued. At least, I have changed my rx8 with new one and problem solved. What can be the problem? Is there any one who had same or similar problem?

I am using RX8 with 1550kV truggy motor, 6S battery, spektrum sr3300t, spektrum voltage protector, savox 1256 for steering and savox 1258 for mechanical break on my losi 8T.

This makes no sense. The Rx8 will not "arm" unless we see neutral during the power up sequence. SO is it really an "instant" throttle burst? or does it do the burst after the boot up?

Has anyone ran the rx8 in a 12th scale with 1s lipo? i'm running a t bar and figure the extra weight will help balance the car while providing less on resistance than the rs. Just curious if anyone has tried it and had any problems.

The Rx8 will not operate on 1s.
