If you are referring to my experience, the motor and esc is alot older then 3 races. I've had my far share of issues with Tekin products, but Randy has always looked after me. You can't fault the back up support from him and the rest of the Tekin team. Thats why I currently own 4 Tekin esc's and motors and will continue to buy them.

Just built my 1st RC ride in years so a little dusty for setting up. Running a RC8Be with 1900kv/RX8/4S 5000mah 40c/46T,19T. Everything's working fine but don't have a clue where to start with settings. All i've done is the binding, set the voltage cutoff to 4 and adjusted the steering slightly with the turnbuckle. Where do i go from here? (got a hotwire but i'm mac, not pc so not much help). Sure its been asked before but didn't want to trawl through 700+ pages looking for the answers!

Hey Doug,

The easiest thing to try first would be some of the Team Tekin driver setups.

http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESC...up-sheets.html

And for a Mac, it's not supported "yet" will it ever be, who knows. But you can look at installing a windows emulator like Bootcamp and load windows onto that. It's explained a little better here. If you are using a non intel based Mac, Virtual PC will work for it.

I'm on a Mac either, but I have VMware Fusion installed and it runs Windows7. With VMware you can run a virtual computer on you Mac. I run Windows in 1 space so I can switch very fast between OSX and Windows in like 1sec

You could also do a dual boot with bootcamp, but then you have to restart you system every time and you will have only 1 OS avaible.

Unfortunatly, you need to pay for windows and VMware. I get all the software for free from my school because I'm a student ICT, but if you know your way on the internet, you'll find the software somewhere.

Thanks Gregg, nice link.

Using a MBP but can't be bothered installing windows as i'll need to reformat before i do. I'm waiting for the new MBP's to come out in the next couple of months (fingers crossed) and will be making a point of running bootcamp once a SSD is in place. My fathers using a MP with Parallels so might take it round there to set it up.

If I remember correctly, most of the setups can be done straight from the buttons on the ESC. I've changed many settings with just the buttons.

Indeed, its just knowing what to set it at. Had a look through those setup sheets so got a fair idea of what i should be aiming at.

Doug, if you're only going to be using 4S batteries, I'd suggest setting the voltage cutoff to 12.8V using the custom cutoff settings in the HotWire interface. The stock setting of 12V, IMO, is too low as it could allow one or more cells to go below 3V, which is not good for a LiPo battery.

Agree with you on that Billy. That went through my mind when i set it so i've only run it for 5-10 mins. Its on charge now and was only down by 1v.

i hate when you are searching through old pages of a thread to fix a problem and someone who had the same problem and is asking questions finally figures it out and doesn't post the answer...

so for future references all i had do to the mx-3x was adjust the throttle forward and max out epa's and it calibrated...

So I need your opinion guys. Traded for an SC8e today and wanna pick up a Tekin combo for it. Debating between the 2000kv and 2250kv truggy motor. It will primarily be my basher but i will most definitely get raced too. Lemme know your thoughts
