G'Day Guys,

I've got an RC8 that I'm converting and was wondering if I should go for the 1900 kv motor - I'll be running 4s on a medium sized track.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium

64-bit operating system.

Is HotWire not compatiable with this?

Cory,

I have windows 7 with 64 and it won't work for me either. I was told they are working on it. I have considered installing my old operating system on my computer in the background and running it that way.

If you want to run 4s then that is the motor I would choose. I would start out with an 18 or19/46 gear too. I even ran a 1700 on 4s when we ran with the nitros and it was plenty and buttery smooth.

On another note, has anyone done any testing with a 1400 on 5s?

Go to the properties of the hotwire.exe and click the compatibility tab. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose XP or 2000. (32bit if there's an option)

If it's the install, download the software from Tekin, extract it and do the same thing as above for all files listed. (setup.exe, msi, etc)

It's in the works, trying to get it done asap.

If only it were that easy. It still won't run it even if you force 32bit mode on it.

Crud, it worked for the Castle Link software, so I thought I'd mention it.

I believe JHautz is running the 1400 on 5s and likes it. The 1350kv truggy on 5s doesn't work that well. The 1550kv motor works much better and is more efficient, although the 1350 truggy motor on 6s is suppose to run very well.

Has something to do with the MDAC in windows, but that's too technical for me to talk about! I would hate dealing with software, I'll take fixing ESCs over that fo sho.

Feels very similar and run times are almost identical. Just saves a few grams of unneeded motor weight. But the more I drive my buggy the more I am comming to realize that it acually handles better when it's a little heavier. So it's really just what you are after for your setup.
