Where do you see punch control? Are you using a Losi esc?
Cogging can be all but eliminated with a firmware upgrade. Castle had that problem when they first came out with the Mamba Max but fixed it with an upgrade. Please give us an upgrade with smoother proportional braking and reduced cogging.

Blade - you might try setting the motor timing to very low. I tried it on medium and it ran really hot, turned it back to very low and I didn't notice any loss of power. Otherwise I think your settings are fine - could try turning down the initial accerlation to prevent cogging as mentioned, but mine only cogs at the very slightest throttle, which I really use

Losi 2.0 brushless conversion
dumb question but i was woundering if you where to drop say a tooth or two on the spur should you go up on the pinion or down to compinsate >? I never really messed around with spur before .I am in the procces of converting my losi 2.0 into brushless and i was going to use the kyosho 44t plastic gear for mod1 pinions .Anyhow my losi 2.0 comes with a 48 spur the losi brushless kit kicks it down to a 45t and my kyosho spur would go down an other tooth.I have been doing some reading and some that have been doing the conversion say that it is a good idea to use the kyosho spur as it quites down the buggy alot and saves wear on pinions .Anyhow i was never really good on knowing what would happin if i played around with spur gears .lol So, if you could eplain the basics that would be awesome .bert

If you are trying to keep the same gear ratio and you go down on the spur you would also go down on the pinion. A smaller spur gear provides a higher gear ratio (more speed) and a bigger pinion does the same. Going from a 45 tooth spur to a 44 isn't going to make much difference and if you go down a tooth on the pinion you will be geared lower than you want. I would stick with the pinion you have.

may i ask whats up with the 12.8v 4 cell in the top left corner ? 4 cells are 14.8 not 12....or is that a cut off feature ? i dunno ive never seen that screen before and i cant exactly click on the bubble info tab

I put the conversion kit on a friends 8ight tonight. He went with the 1700KV motor and will be using the 5s Losi battery, which arrives tomorrow, er today actually. The conversion kit comes with a 45t pinion and 15 or 16pinions.
Now, too me it seems this thing will be a bit overgeared. Correct me if I'm wrong there.
So when we get this thing ready to go, should we start with the settings mentioned above? Or would those setting be Mamba specific?
Putting the electric parts on when pretty well. But since I'm used to running the 8ight as nitro, I got mixed up putting the center diff back in. I didn't realize it goes on backwards. LOL. They gave me some grief on that one. But no big deal. Just a couple minutes to switch it back around. The one aspect I was uhappy with is the shorter wire lead from the on/off switch. There was BARELY enough wire to run under the battery tray, across the chassis, and to the switch plate on the RX box. That was just a minor annoyance though.
Can't wait to test this monster out tommorrow. Thanx for any tips you guys can provide.

OMG this thing is awesome. My buddy is using 5s with the 1700KV Losi motor/ESC. Geared 15/45 and it friggin flies. Literally. The car accelerates sooo hard, overjumping is the problem now. Oh, and on the concrete they should have designed a slipper clutch because it's way too easy to pull wheelies. Each time we'd pull full throttle (stand still or rolling), the buggy would stand up so fast that all four tires would be off the ground, and the wing was the only thing touching the ground. LOL.
I'm amazed. Plain and simple. We kept checking tems often. After 10 minutes total run time; The battery stayed air temperature. The motor was 110 F. The speedo was 95 F. The ambient air temp was cool though-35 F.
Either way this wil be a great vehicle for running our indoor off-road track. That is until the track starts getting hammered, like all 1/8 scale tracks. I can't wait for more to get converted/bought.
