Been very durable for me, only broken an arm and that was because I hit a wall off a big table top

I had to take most of the droop out of mine, running very high grip carpet. Was very tippy in the corners and didn't switch directions well either

VEEEEEERRY different conditions. I would look at Lee Martin's EOS setup that he just ran and compare your setup to that. See what changes he has over yours and possibly try to incorporate some of them.

I've got it pretty sorted now but I only race 1-2x a week and I've only got I think 3 race days on the car, last day being the best and finishing 2nd overall in a double main format

Limited some droop here as well and liked the feel personally relative to the setup I was using at the time. on carpet we are limited to non-carpet pin tires so items like slicks or clay compound tires sauced are common.

Running this setup now with schumacher honeycombs works well (using new V2 style AE springs that have close measured values to the ones listed and PT Racing oils):

I also liked its feel for our conditions by moving the shock positions out on the a-arms.

Anyone know if a model change is on the horizon? Kit is unchanged since late 2017? Is that correct?

Yeah, kit is unchanged since 2017. One of my racing buddies went to SDRC in San Diego before the Reedy Race here at OCRC, he spoke to Shin Adachi who said that there will be a new 2wd DTM3 coming out. Probably going to incorporate the new transmission from the yz2t and the battery mount. The YZ4 is pretty much holding down the local club racing, close 2nd is the eb410. Hopefully we'll hear something announced soon.

Personally I wold like them to offer a "Spec racing" version of the YZ4SF, designed for 13.5T spec racing putting in the various lightening options that are or would be popular in a vehicle. Also, the 5.5mm ball studs too, maybe there own version of some titanium bits as well, and of course if they can strengthen the a-arms for those who have issues, could be a nice touch.

Car though in general is a beast. One thing I really enjoy about the vehicle over the EB410s I had was how wells it jumped and landed from jumps. Very plush. With the EB410 I always felt I was hunting for a more optimal piston, oil, and spring combination.

Reid McMichael just won the 13.5 class at Motorama with a more or less stock YZ4SF.

what were the parts that were not stock? Be a good place to start then for a spec version.

I would have to ask him but I believe it's the same parts that you would put on a mod car (turnbuckles, alum hubs, etc. etc.). Nothing that would be put on a 'spec car'.

Building my new kit. Question, do you guys shim the slipper? There are shims but the manual doesn't say to install them.
