Novice questions here folks... Does ARCR have power on race days to recharge battery packs? If not, how many charged lipo's do people generally bring to get through a race meet? Also, could someone please explain the timing results on your web page. For example: 0/0m0.000s. Thanks.

Also curious as to why the next round has been canned? Logistical issue?

Firstly, the timing results are based on the the laps completed by the competitor within the 5 minute total race duration, plus the time it takes over that 5 minutes period to complete your final race lap.

So for example 13/5m6.257s would indicate this driver completed 13 laps in 5 minutes and 6.257 seconds. This can also tell this competitor he was 6.257 seconds from completing the next racing lap within the 5 minute period. So the less the seconds after the 5 minutes, the closer you were to making the next lap.

As for the battery question, the answer to this is entirely dependant on what class of car, the motor type used, batteries that are used, gearing and even driving style.

But as a general rule with most current 5000mah + 2C LiPo batteries,
2wd and 4wd modified buggy classes will generally require a freshly charged 'pack' for each of the six races on an ARCR club day.
Whereas the lower powered 10.5T restricted class' of SCT 2wd and ST 2wd trucks should see you needing just three freshly charged packs for the six races per day.
I'm unsure of the 4wd SCT class, as I do not compete with anything using that electronic set up or battery type.

Hope that helps some.

There is no power provided, some bring generators, others bring car batteries to charge with on the day. How many lipos required depends entirely on your car's power system and the capacity of your lipos. Races go for a little over 5 minutes, there are 3 qualifiers and 3 finals making a total 6 sessions, I usually get 2 sessions out of my 5000mah saddle packs in 4WD buggy running a 5.5T motor, so 3 sets of saddlepacks gets me through the day, however it is still best to have a fully charged pack for each race.

There were some murmurs about a planned 2 day race to be held at MP that was cancelled and nothing has replaced it. A practice day with timing is the latest rumour I've heard. I along with others would love to see a race day planned but I don't think that's gonna happen.

Plus I'm hanging out more than ever as my new mod motor arrived today and I'm finally on par power wise with the rest of the 2wd boys.

Not yet mate. I put my 10.5 track star motor in got a new sensored esc on the way.
im starting to work out the turn of the motor in relation to the power.
The lower the turn the faster the motor so the 8.5 should give more power up top.
Did u sort your cars out?

I cut one foam in half with a sharp knife.

Is there a reason for doing that?
