MG66

Picked up my mg66 last night, mark should be happy with that- i'm no longer the dark horse of the team

but whats the deal- just pulled it apart to clean before run-in and i can't even get the piston and conrod out, theres no room for the conrod to slide off the crank pin- and yes i know its a stupid thing to say since it was put in that way but unless i use alot of force it ain't coming out.

Mark, how do you want me to run this engine in and standard a-main or C2???

mattwoodcraft 08-13-2009 02:28 AM

mate i noticed that you were not running a go tech at the nationals :D

i run all my go techs in on the fuel i race with and heat gun them thay are very tight enigines mate just do as he says on his web page you will not have a prob at all

When the engines are brand new the con rod is a snug fit on the gudgeon pin, and quite often you have difficulty in sliding the con rod along the pin until 10 tanks or maybe more. Once things bed in the rod will slide along the pin and you will be able to pop the rod of the crank pin and remove the piston. Don't force it. Just run it in and go hard. You can be sure everything is sweet inside if it came from Mr MASSIVE

the mg66 hasnt got as much pinch on the top as the other go engines as for easy run in as for run in 1/2 tank at idle then put it on the ground and drive tank by tank to race tune you will be very happy with it

mattwoodcraft 08-13-2009 04:33 AM

thats seems like a short run in :D i remember mark saying something like this at the nationals , i will get one once all my other motors are worn out i think , so it may be a while...

WOW..we took delivery of our first 10 MG66 engines at 3pm yesterday, by close of business (6pm tonight) we only have 3 left and another 10 on order from Massive....

Keep them comin MM...

We also have another large shipment of GX engines on the way (7-10 days).

The first shipment of 30+ sold out in less than 2 weeks (didnt even let many people know we had them either!). We were the ones who donated the GX5R at the Truggy Nats that Matt now has - well done Matt  you got a real bargain there :tire:

You can contact us at [email protected] for further info or to reserve one so you dont miss out !
