i shot off an email to Mark, and he said for initial run in just leave the 8mm in.
Was ready to go outside and start her up.... grabbed the old glow plug starter, which has been sitting in the tool box for the last 7 months..... yeah well you can guess how well that went lol. anyway its charging now. :sweat: I took a couple pics and will post em up (just resizing now). Wanted some pics before it gets started :) |
Well scratch that...... cant find the gf's hair dryer...... and its getn dark and cold. Will do the run in tomorrow, not gonna start the motor cold. And glow plug driver still charging.
Photo's didnt come out that great coz of the light, but heres a couple. Will take some more in better light tomorrow. Had one issue during the whole build..... which made me rage big time. the new accociated look good :) man i had the same prob with both my cars none of the screws were long enough to hold down the servos

lol nah there is a bmx tack 5 min down the road, some real nice jumps. gonna use em there. save the good race tyres :) do i know you spyke? Also they where right next to me and didnt wanna take the photos with some dirty tyres and rims |
matt it wasnt actually the length.... all the other bit from the very top.... these just fell into the hole.... so the whole shaft was actually wider than the screws

With the rear servo screws - these don't normaly screw into the chassis or radio plate. On a lot of buggies there is a plastic bar with two threaded holes that fits onto the underside of the radio plate beneath the servo mounting holes. The screws go through the radio plate and then screw into this bar which clamps the servo to the radio plate (like a double ended nut ??) Check the box and see if you can find one of these little bars. I canīt see the kit coming with the wrong screws. They are normally pretty onto it with stuff like that. |
grizz it wasnt the wrong screws! manual shows that all 8 screws for the servo's are exactly the same! which was what i got. and manual also shows that they screw straight into the radio tray.
i think i know what you mean though, but the servo screws actually go into the servo tray posts. so that you dont need to stuff around trying to hold the little bars underneath. so the actual post has a hole drilled into it. hope that makes sense. will try get a pic of it. |

i think i know what you mean though, but the servo screws actually go into the servo tray posts. so that you dont need to stuff around trying to hold the little bars underneath. so the actual post has a hole drilled into it. hope that makes sense. will try get a pic of it. That would leave you with a larger hole on the top, and you probably would not have noticed screwing a hex screw into the smaller threaded hole that was meant for the servo tray screws. Just a thought. So when will the beast get fired up ??? |
dont thay have a moulded tray plastic like the losi ones now ?

what i have noticed with the go carbies as that you pretty much need to replace the carby o-rings straight away the brown ones get very hard very quick and the needles become hard to turn , resulting in the o-ring braking up air leaks and poor running ....
put the new orings in excallent seal and needles move a whole lot easier |

grizz, matt is spot on :) pre moulded radio tray so no chance of getting them the wrong way. Just one of those things i guess. I had a heap of screws left from a a full screw kit i had bought for the matrix a while back. So wasnt hard to sort out. Just ruins the look a little bit, as all the screws are black with blue aluminium washers, then there are 2 silver ones sticking out.
It could have been worse. She will get fired up today....... ah crap the gf just left and i forgot to ask her bout the hair drier :lol: |
quick trip too bunnings my freind $15 heat gun :nod: i thought they were moulded trays the old rc8 was carbon deck...
its quiet amazing almost how similar the new rc8 and losi look in the radio trays :) have fun running in mate :nod: |

Just left my trusty fuel tubing ones in until I have time to sort it. i had trouble with my 3 port the orings broke up and caused a lot of problems pulled down the carby replaced them the hsp needle oring was acually caused a blockeage but the problem has now been rectified :):) i will now do it to my other engine replace befor the nats what are you doing with the fuel tube on the needles ? |
