Has anyone run the F60 rear wing and McLaren rear wingsto compare? The McLaren rear wing looks like the leading edge points up and was wondering if it looses downforce?

Hoping to run the McLaren rear wing with my F60 body and F60 Front wing as it looks more like the current Ferrari rear wing but CANNOT loose rear downforce as I run rubber on asphalt

I have run both and there is not a huge difference. The McLaren may actually have a tiny bit more downforce.

Go to uf1series.com and see what you've been missing.

The only upgrades you NEED would be a center shock TRF or can go 3racing cheaper but "cheaper" , front wheel bearings, better spur and pinion gear selection (for your 21.5 get the 93/104 tooth spur set, use the 93t and a 34 tooth pinion, yeh you can mix Tamiya's pitch gears and 64 pitch gears just fine) and Pit Shimizu tires #571 and 572 rubber which will mount on Tamiya rims made for foam tires. Yep rims for foam tires. Been covered here extensively, there's even an entire thread for Pit Shimizu tires for this car. Can't be beat.
Build it to the kit specs, ride height etc but run the damper plates very loose, center T plate/bar screw very loose, light 15 or 20 wt oil and the softest shock spring you can find, gold or flourescent red or even the new black spring for the F104X1. Just keep the rear setup soft and loose.
Of course there are a million hop ups you may "want" but to get your car working, you won't need much to get going.
Get all of your stuff from speedtechrc.com or tqrcracing.com. Between them you will find everything you need.
The F60 kit has the fiberglass chassis and steel rear axle which are both a plus for running on asphalt.
Be sure you go and run it and get tips at Tamiya Raceway on Saturdays, it's free and only open to Tamiya cars/owners.
Glad to help if you'd like to pm me any questions.
This is the car I've been racing for a couple years since they came out, with upgrades of course.
OK I got the tires you suggested, now on to the spur set

I see the Tamiya (#53104) 0.4 Spur Gear (93T/104T) on ebay from HK- http://www.ebay.com/itm/140577689591...84.m1438.l2649

And at my local Hobby Shop they have Tamiya 53900 ( WHICH THERE SITE SAYS "FOUND IN F104" )
RC 04 Module Spur Gear - 93T/104T (F103GT) - http://www.ampdraw.com/product/21905...3T-104T-F103GT

Will either of these 93 t Spurs work in my F104? They look the same from what I can tell but they are different colors and the part numbers are different, but description seems the same??? I want to just get Tamiya Part #53900 from the more local Hobby Shop, but if I need to order the other I will.

Cars is not even here yet but I'm trying to get everything ready.

Those are for the F103. The rears will bolt straight on and make the car 200mm wide, but the fronts won't go over the f104 front arms.

I just got this F104Pro from a guy on ebay, said he put it together but never ran it.

Something dosen't look right to me. The left wheel seem to be higher than the right. And the rear axel doesn't seem level. looks like it is going up on the left side and down on the right. I been looking through the book but I can't tell what they did wrong during the build..

I am about to take everything apart and see if I can tell whats wrong. I wanted to know what the experts think before I start tearing it apart.

ride height adapters are in wrong..pull out the rear axel and you should see the bearings sitting at 2 different positions also they are marked, make sure you have the same number on each side

should be a 5 minute fix

omg

He used two different size hieght adjusters, stripped the set screw on long side of the diff house and put the shaft if backwards

look like his ebay rating is going to go down

I am looking for hieght adjustment parts now. I will also need a new diff house and ball diff rebuild kit, I hope tq has them

Ok I found the parts quick question do I want the 3 racing 3 t-bar traction set. I will be racing rubber tires on prepared parkinglot surface. I also see the hight traction tamiya t-bar but it is more $ and you only get 1 t-bar.

Any other essential parts I should think about getting while I'm getting this stuff???
