I also have mine set with a round pack but have 2 new shortys i wanted to use but I figured now I'll use them in mini. This way I can get more weight on that car foward to meet 1300g.

You can replace the center dampening disc on the Tamiya F104 kits with the F104X1 upper deck kit. It includes a side damper in the kit which is Tamiya #54331 (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...ll-damper-set/). You can find this kit cheaper online such as Amazon..

This kit comes with a separated/shorter upper deck, which would make removing shorty lipo packs easier. In the picture of my car a few posts above, I am using the longer version of the X1 upper deck Tamiya #54333

I am about to try that, hoping it will stop it from 3 wheeling in tight corners..

Well my cars maiden race was yesterday. In a feild of xray Schumacher and exotec I was able to land 4th in the amain. Exotec red rears and kit 104 pro ii front with glue on the side wall. Car was gripped up in the rear as can be but pushy. Was able to use the brakes to get it to turn but wish I had a lil more steering. Ganna try some other stuff I have to get there but it shows cheap cars can hang with the expensive ones just as much.
exotec red rear
Tamiya kit front glued a lil bit on the sidewall
Fluorescent red center shock
2 mm on front shock portion to raise it up off the top deck
Kyosho white mini z front springs
tight disk plate with 5k oil
35w oil in shock
Lowest ride height rear
All the droop as possible
Front knuckle has no shims under it 1mm on top 1 mm under upper clip
0 camber
93x32 gearing.
Track is the tcs nj track at Jackson nj

Agreed - my f104 is plenty fast enough to keep up with the pack.. the only thing holding it back is the driver.. I am in the process of switching from CRC tires to Exotek tires.. I run on black crc carpet.. double red in the rear.. single red with a tiny bit of glue in the front seems to work well for me..

Adjustable rear wing mount. I have the current 104 v2 pro and it has no height adjustment. Is there something tcs legal or can I make something with tcs parts to be legal?

I would say no.. but if you are really committed.. the TRF cars have 3 wing positions.. I have tried raising the wing, I created a little carbon plate with 6 holes in it.. honestly couldn’t tell the difference

I ended up coming up with something. I had spare parts from a m05 steering and used that to raise the wind deck height. Ill get a pic tonight when i get home. But hopefully this will help. Also give the option to move it back over 5 mm from stock also.

Cool it’s always good to have options😎
From a TCS perspective, you would still be breaking rule 3.3, but honestly.. chances are nobody would notice.. a lot TCS is honor system..that said if your suspiciously fast.. your fellow drivers will happily do free in-depth inspections 🖖

damn I was so focused on just the f1 portion didn't relise that part. I figured because it was a tamiya part it be good. There really is no way to raise the wing and still be legal. What other rear mounts are there. Ive seen 2 only but it dosnt say the wing height on it

Not a lot of options.. you can use any F104 body with its intended wing set, no mixing and matching allowed.. some of them may have better aero.. but realistically.. other than the generic body that comes with the F104 Pro II.. they are impossible to find these days… even if Tamiya don’t want to spend money developing new F1 cars.. it would be nice if they would at least re-release some of the older F1 body sets..
